Millie the vicious!

We have decided to get Millie a muzzle. One of those basket ones. She will look very ferocious!

We have been thinking about it for a little while as we get so anxious when taking her out in case she picks food up off the floor - living where we are we are surrounded by chip shops and therefore lots of chips on the floor which she grabs at as we walk past. And if we go in the pub we have to be really careful that there are no crisps on the floor.

Camping and bbq season is almost upon us and we usually take her along with us where ever we go and rarely have her on her lead in fields, etc. But now we know that she will have to be tied up all the time and watched in case someone drops anything near her.

I was talking to the nurse at the vets the other day and she recommended a Baskerville muzzle - one of the full face guards type. It will stop her from picking anything up off the floor meaning that we can relax and take her out as normal. She can still drink with it on too.

In one way I am reluctant to get her one as dogs wearing them always look as though they are vicious but I think it will get her (and our) life back to normal.

I am going to see if the vets can get us one or see if I can buy a coloured one off the net.

Millie with the muzzle
No longer can she guzzle

She'll wonder what's going on, poor wee love. :)

She'll hate it. But then again she hates the haltie but we make her wear it.

But it means that she can be normal again, albeit looking like a dangerous dog.

Errrm I did suggest it may help a couple of times  :?

Maybe you could make her a bandana, with a message like hey, I'm not dangerous I'm just not allowed any extra food :D

I wonder if I could paint a big cheesey grin on the front of it!

I really need to get my ass in to gear and get one ordered. I don't seem able to buy one around here so it will have to be from the net so I need to look up one which has good measuring instructions.
