Most popular of the available choices of a party so deeply burned by their own MP's that it is radioactive.

As for a leader who has no political ideology? Actually some people would really like that. After all governing the country is supposed to be about management and governance and not about your prejudices.

So that's Patel, Braverman, Jenrick, Cleverly, Badenock and Fartcage out then, and no return for the Johnson.

The MPs who burned the party are the right wing nutjobs of the ERG et al. Well done them.

Or not, because the country needs a centre right party of capable individuals, and Johnson got rid of them.

To be honest if you rule out political ideology you pretty much rule out every one of them, not just Boris.

They will do what they will do. People will vote for them or not.

Here is a bit of reality. Both pensions and NHS take up over 2/3 of taxes. Massive changes in neither will be possible without significant taxation changes and if anyone thinks that taxing fixed sums at the levels of annual volume will fix things they are dreaming. The money will be gone long before they can say GIVE and then they will have even less to play with.

This means that those who voted for Starmer will be exceedingly unhappy and those who didn't will have to form a strategy that does not hand Starmer the next election too.

All good clean knife fighting.

Another bit of reality, Pensions (OAP) are not taxes. We paid in for ~50 years and they are not 'benefits' nor taxes, but can be taxed, they are already paid for. Private occupational pensions are a totally different thing - voluntary. It is up to the providers to sort them.

The NHS is funded from general taxation and is free to all at source when needed - for everyone. You want us to additionally pay (the US model) or do you have another idea?

Well George Osborne gave an interview earlier this month saying that the next Conservative leader would have to win the party from the right, before moving it to the centre.

In other words pretend to be a right winger before resuming business as usual as a wet lettuce One Nationer.

And today what do we see? Tom Tugendhat saying that he is "Ready to leave the ECHR". Yes, of course you are. In 2022 he said the exact opposite!

That's what I mean by the buckets of whitewash Cromwell. They will say and promise anything to get the votes and once in power they sit back and do nothing - except to squabble with each other of course.

There is nothing "wet lettuce" about being a right of centre, centrist. I should know because I am one... a right of centre, centrist, not a wet lettuce.

Who do I vote for?

I will never vote Labour for personal reasons. I have voted LibDem a few times in the past, as well as Cons. Johnson put that to bed. So where is my right of centre party without the nutters element?

Most of us flip-flop between right and left of centre most of the time yet we have nowhere to go. Braverman et al will not win us back: Tugendhat might... if he can get rid.

Fartcage and the rabids can have them.

I voted LIb Dem once for Ming Campbell. Mainly because I liked him and his message and felt he was a solid rock in the Lib Dems.

Other than Conservative I've voted for SNP as an option against Conservative D1ckheads who really annoyed me with their attitude to Scotland.

I've never voted Labour and never will. Again for personal reasons.
