Duvet

I have a duvet which I want to clean.

It has seveeal marks onit. I have used it without a cover which is why it has got marked.

i am thinking of washing it in the washing machine on it s own and letting it dry overnight.

I don't want to take it to be dry cleaned or scrap it and buy a new one.

Any advice much appreciated.

It actually would be cheaper to buy a new one from asda or a super market of your choice

Mine is two duvets that clip together with poppers for winter, a 4.5 tog (summer) and a 9.0 tog (spring/autumn) and they are a cotton outer filled with duck down.

I take them to the launderette because a normal washing machine is not big enough for either on their own. Each costs about £9 to clean but that is way cheaper than a new down filled one.

However, Saundra is right. Fibre duvets from supermarkets, B&M, Home Bargains etc are as cheap as chips.

Agreeing with the comments so far - if it’s feather get it professionally cleaned, if it’s just fibre then they really are very cheap to buy in the supermarkets.

I get our duvets laundered, I would never be able to dry it, plus I think the washing machine would not cope with weight of a wet winter duvet.

Also I agree with Saundra- buy a duvet cover!
