Good Morning Tuesday

Postby JanB » 30 Jan 2024, 08:06

Morning everyone

Foggy

After a sleepless night, too many things going on in my head  we're heading into Ourique with Rita this morning, as we need to sort out permissions for the licence and tree cutting. Much easier when you have a Portuguese person with you :D

I'm supposed to be stew making later, but we'll see how I feel.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Jan I didn't sleep well either. Like you, too much going on in my head ((x))

Ally, that's good :D xx

Usual Tuesday stuff here, out for breakfast then round to D's. We FaceTime'd with B last night, was great to see her, and the lovely house and little dogs she's looking after :)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning you three.

It is bright but cold at 4 °C and not likely to get much above 6 °C for the rest of the day. Where are the warmer temperatures we were promised?

It is Tuesday so a flat day. I will get the slow cooker on and do some braised beef and onion and also make a beef stew with the trimmings from the four steaks. After that, who knows?

Enjoy your stew, Jan, and good luck with the TV, Ally. I can't find much on the main channels to make it worth the while turning it on. Kaz, good to hear B is enjoying her "adventure".

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, lovely and sunny here but cold, there was a bit of frost overnight. Edward has got the bus to the golf club and if the course doesn’t open, he will walk home. I’m bringing the car to the tyre place, I phoned them yesterday and they said to bring it down then, but it was such a miserable day that I wasn’t going out again! Otherwise bits and pieces around the house to be done. Yesterday I did a good bit of work on my current jigsaw, might do more today.

Hello and good morning all

Kaz and Jan - (((hugs))) for you both; nothing worse when you're tired but your brain won't switch off and it keeps you awake. Jan, once you've done the permission thing then there isn't more you can do really; tell your delightful neighbour to take a hike and concentrate his annoying energies on sorting the access he already has.
Kaz, so glad B is having a great time - thank goodness for modern technology that let's you experience her time abroad with her
Ally, yay for Ely - that's great. Enjoy lunch
Frank, I watch a handful of programme's on TV - I hardly have it on in the summer; but this time of year it's nice to have it. Enjoy your cook'athon
Osc, good luck with the tyres - hope you get everything sorted at not too humongous a cost. And enjoy the jigsaw

Another day in the office for me - train strike day but thankfully my line does run some services so it's OK. I will be leaving earlier than normal though

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all :D

Dull and overcast

Sorry you didn't have a good night Jan and Kaz, it's horrid when you can't turn your brain off.

We love the box, especially at this time of year, usually find lots to see. Watching Harlan Coben's The Stranger on Netflix at the moment, very good.

No plans for today.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Lovely and warm now 8-)

Rita and I went into Ourique, as Grumpy's back is still playing up.

Went to the office for tree cutting and she told us, as far as she was aware, normal oak tree branches do not need permission, as long as you don't cut too much back  But to ring ICNF and confirm.

Rita very kindly did that and they confirmed that if we're just trimming and cutting over-hanging branches, no problem at all

Honestly, you'd think that a judge and two lawyers would know that, wouldn't you?

And presumably that's why they haven't replied to my e-mails

I then went back into Ourique and did the shopping and got a birthday card for Oliver, as I forgot last week , we'll pop down to the bar and post it this afternoon.

Good afternoon everybody.

It was nearly 15C when i got up.
Went to town in the car, I parked using my diabled badge. So got free parking. Moved it once as you are only allowed two hours in one place.

Collected a king sized sheet which I has ironed. I cannot do them. Then to ther solicitors to make amn appointment. I am going to change my Will.
Had to wait for the library to open. I wanted to check some details in the Electoral Register.
Then to the chemist to pick up two items which they had not got last week. Another short hop to Tesco for the DM.
It is now timw for lunch. Had a rest before doing some housework. Where does the dust comefrom?

Osc, you have reminded me, if it is nice tomorrow, I will check my tyre pressures. I have a small unit which is powered from the socket in the car. It stops when the presuure reaches the set amount. Bought it several years ago.

Will be watching some TV tonight. Have a good day everybody
