Good Morning Thursday

Postby JanB » 18 Jan 2024, 08:44

Morning everyone

Rather grey, but not cold. We had more rain overnight and more is forecast for today. Feeling mild at 17C.

We really need to let some water out of the pool, much more and it will be flowing out over the garden   Also put upright all the benches and pots that blew over yesterday.

Cleaning for me this morning, no idea what Grumpy will be doing. can't do much outside.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan.

Lovely sunshine here and I've already done my walk. I'm sitting at the hairdresser's waiting for my monthly haircut. :D

Out tonight for drinks and a bite to eat. :D

Have a great day.

Good morning everybody.

It was only 10C when i got up. There is a lovely blue sky but it is still cold. Will have to defrost the car before I go for the paper.

Neighbour who lives diectly opposite has cleared a path from my front door to my car. So I gve him a tin of biscuits which i had been
given for Christmas. I would not eat them.

THen just a day pootling. Ally, I went to have my hair cut on Tuesday. First time this year. Stil only £5.00.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning peeps, woke up to a no-frost frost!

I was up early because I could not sleep so I looked out but there was no frost even though the weather site said -4 °C, then I looked closer. The humidity was only 51% and the dew point said -8 °C.

Clear blue sky for three days running... it can only go downhill from here.

Morning all, another beautifully sunny but bitterly cold day here. I’m in a rush as we are going to dance practice but need to drop something to Miss Osc’s on our way - Kellie is at home sick with a tummy bug so Miss Osc will work from home. Must go!

Hello and good morning all

a very cold start to the day here as well - minus 7 overnight and it's not going much above 2 degrees today; and then another night of really cold.... and then back to lovely British weather, ie rain and wind
work from home for me this morning; or rather sort of wfh... leaving here shortly to go past Morrisons and then on to Karl and Nadine's for the rest of the day - I've got this afternoon off. The TA that worked with both Thomas and Amelia is retiring today. She was so instrumental in getting both kids through primary school and she's become a family friend - so Nadine and I are throwing her a small (very small as it's only the three of us) party this afternoon to celebrate.

Stay warm everyone' it really is nippy out xxx

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny but cold brrrrr

What a lovely idea, enjoy the party this afternoon Ria.

Looks like this walking lark is going to be a lengthy process, still hobbling around on the crutches. It's quite painful and the swelling definitely increases as the day goes on. I did a little dummy run to see if I could get into the shower yesterday afternoon. Managed okay, but it won't be easy getting out with the crutches on a wet surface. Think it will be a few more days before it will be safe to try properly, not worth risking an accident!! Hoping physio tomorrow will be able to give some advice.

No plans, tbh it's so cold outside I'm happy to be indoors, but if I'd had the op in the summer think I'd be climbing the walls by now.

Hope you all have a good day, stay warm xx

Good afternoon.
Blinking cold here too but a lovely blue sky.
The gentlemen from Heneghan's are digging the pavement up for Virgin media fibre to be laid. Unfortunately they didn't inform sister in law and her neighbour and neither of them can get out in their cars now.
MrsC is at our son's cleaning, I've been to Sainsbury's and got a trolley that already had a pound in. This is two days running. Yesterday at the butcher's I got 500 grams of mince and four chinese pork steaks for £2. I gave the man a £10 note, he gave me £8 change. I told him he'd given me too much change but he was adamant that he hadn't, so OK. I think this is a great trend and should be encouraged!
Ria, what a lovely idea. Jen, steady away, don't do too much too soon (though I release that it must be incredibly frustrating).
Have a good day everyone.

Jen, when my boot came off after my motorbike accident, I had the same problem. The physio's advice was 'little but often' then rest. It did take a while but it eventually worked. Give it time, and good luck.
