I think sometimes I struggle because for 15 years our relationship/marriage was very much him being here for a while and then working away for weeks on end and we both got used to our own space. In the last couple of years he has worked away less and less and it has been quite hard adjusting to that.

Sounds silly really as most people are used to their other halves being home every night but it's what we were used to and it has taken some adapting to.

But everything is fine really. I'm sure I annoy him just as much as he annoys me.........

Oh gosh no, I understand that! My lovely friend/substitute big sister had a similar situation, it takes a lot of adapting. I lived in their house for a year and although removed, I too got used to the different lives involved.

I am so glad he is ok but I would forget the hot water bottle, I think he might be grateful of the cool sheets.

It is hard when you get used to your own space and suddenly they are there more. Tim used to work nights and when he stopped I found it hard having him here every night.

Hope he is home soon and also hope the girls are fine, having friends there may be a blessing

Yes I think it has really helped.

They surprised me as to how early they wanted to leave - normally they would complain if we want to go before midnight. S and her friend walked home alone and by the time myself, L and her friend got home (about 30 minutes later) they were both in bed and not far off asleep. L and her friend went straight to bed and although I heard them chatting for a while it wasn't long before they were zonked out too. Normally I am shouting at them in the wee small hours to shut up and go to sleep.

They all seem fine - shocked but fine. I am hoping that they don't keep him in as they will all benefit from seeing him in the morning, even if it is with him in bed.
