MrsC got her Uncle Jim some M&S ready meals this morning whilst we were in Pontefract.
When we went to drop them off Jim wasn't in, so MrsC hung the carrier bag containing the meals on the front door handle.
Later she rang him up and asked about the ready meals.
No, says he, I haven't seen them.
Oh dear, we think, somebody's seen them and nicked them.
Five minutes since one of Jim's neighbours rings up, he's found the ready meals in Jim's freezer!
Inbetween two o'clock and half past three Jim has come home, found the carrier bag on the door handle, put the meals in the freezer - and then completely forgotten about them!

My old colour inkjet died, well the colour nozzles are blocked because I don't now do any colour printing, so I got a mono laser job.

Went to hook it up and no USB cable! A quick drive to Argos and another £10 spent and it looked fine. Setting it up online and there in the small print is the info that the printer does not come with a USB cable. What!? It's the more robust 'B' type usually found in offices rather than the mini, C or lightning cables that come with phones and other personal electricals.

Why wasn't that in the sales pitch? I think I know, it made the printer look cheaper than it actually is. Thanks Brother.

Cromwell, thank goodness Jim has neighbours who keep an eye on him. Well done them.

Watching next door discing his land is painful.

He has bought himself a new tractor, which he still runs on tick-over, up and down the valley

I was pushing the vacuum around quicker than he was moving

I have just received my electric bill which covers a two month period.
Total bill is £153.70.
Of that bill £44.57 is the standing charge!

The standing charge is almost 60p a day - what for?
So for a 90 day quarterly bill you would be paying circa £54 even if you used no electricity whatsoever!

My duel fuel SC is £28.72 per month. Last month is was about one third of my bill. Over the whole of last year it came to one quarter of my bill.

It is a scandal.
