Morning all :D

Looking nice and bright, think we're due rain sometime this afternoon.

Up at silly o'clock as I have to get the car to the garage for a service and MOT by 8.15am. They've said they will make it their first job, so Ed's coming too and once it's dropped off we're going to walk down to the Pavilion (it's not far away) and treat ourselves to a cooked breakfast. The coffee comes with free refills so we'll wait there until they call and say it's ready to collect. Just hoping they don't call a bit earlier to say it needs something expensive fixing........fingers crossed.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning everyone

What a difference a few hours make  Lovely and cool this morning. We even had to close the windows and pull the sheet over us, as there was a chilly wind

Taken me nearly an hour to get this thing ready to use  Next door have a lot of guests and when we're all using wifi

Good luck with the car Jen x

Off soon, no idea when I'll get back. Grumpy is planning a surprise for me. So either he's going to steam clean the floors or he'll be moving an aloe vera - maybe ;)

Jan is taking me down - she'll go shopping whilst I'm being done - and then I'll be incredibly lazy for the rest of the day when I get back, apart from cooking dinner

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody.

We had lots of rainlastnight with some bigflashes f lightning. Did n't hear any thunder as they were in the distance.

The temperature is only 19C. Lots of grey clouds but the sun is trying to come out.
Going tothe bank and some shopping.

Then copying an old report onto my computer. I want to send a copy to friends in America and an email s the cheapest way. It wll be at least ten pages long.

Jenniren,
I was up early on Monday to take my car for MOT and service. It passed. With Vat it cost nearly £300.00

Then just pootling

Have a good day everybody

Morning peeps.
Ally, what time were you up this morning??!
Jan, I hope it's a nice surprise, and good luck. Jen, fingers crossed for the car. It chucked it down here too last night Cruiser. Afternoon tea sounds lovely Saundra.
We've had Eliza for the previous two days so the house seems very quiet today.
MrsC is off with the daughter being ladies wot lunch. I need to pay the water rates.
The village is still virtually cut in two due to road works and there is a football tournament on today, so lots of confused drivers trying to find their way to the football field and failing.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, although it’s not such a great one. Edward has been unwell since about 4.30am so I haven’t had much sleep, thankful for a en-suite bathroom! Just when he thinks he might be improving, it flares up again. He seems to be sleeping at the moment. All plans for the day are obviously cancelled, we were to fix the roof on Kellie’s little shed, then he was to play golf with Michael this afternoon. Last night, about 10 minutes before we were to go dancing, there was a massive thunderstorm over the house, with torrential rain and streams running down both sides of the street, it went on for about 20 minutes, then there were intermittent heavy showers after that. Needless to say, we decided not to go out! Today I shall be looking after the patient, and maybe reading or I have a jigsaw to start, but I might be too tired for that.

Back home £330 lighter, it only needed a few minor things fixed, but it's amazing how that pushes the bill up. The main thing is it's done for another year, I don't use it a lot, but we'd be lost without it. Steve the garage manager was really kind and drove down the hill to the Pavilion to pick us up and saved us walking back.

On the way down we stopped off at the quick counter in Waitrose to pick up the papers. Couldn't believe how much cigarettes are these days, the cheapest packs of 20 were over £14, anyone who regularly smokes 20 a day is spending in excess of £100 a week  I'd be very interested to know how many people using food banks smoke, the saving would easily cover their food bill for a week :?

Afternoon everyone :)

Jan, good luck!! xx

Glad it went ok, Jen xx

I hope Ed feels better soon Osc xx

*Waves to everyone*

Well we were expecting Chris today, for lunch, but just as he was getting ready his back went out, so no chance of him managing a 100 mile drive here and the same back again :? :( Disappointing but at least I hadn't started lunch, so we'll have the chicken tomorrow.

We took Fraggle down the Docks for a good walk instead, and happened across a vintage car exhibition down there, so had a wander round that too. Stopped for a cuppa outside Portico Lounge. Just got back, and a quiet afternoon planned now.

Love to all xxx
