At my house (a couple of moves ago) there was a damson tree, it was ancient, very skinny but tall. It had fruit every year but every other year it would have an enormous yield of damsons, I used to sell them to the local fruit & veg shop, 90lbs was about normal!!!
I did make some jam as well, although I love damson jam a couple of jars would last a couple of years :)

Oh M&S is worth the evil eye ;)

I prefer damsons shoved into a bottle of gin with a bit of sugar! :lol:
