The new washing machine is in and up and running.

I put the old one on yesterday for a short wash and when it all went quiet I thought that it had finished, but when I opened the door - sploosh! I quickly closed it and did a mop-up then put it on a spin cycle. That finished but it was still full of water. I tried a few other cycles but it never got to spin and drain the clothes.

I phoned a few tradespeople and was told that the controller needed replacing and that it would cost £xxx, Well, for an eight year old washer it was not worth it so yesterday afternoon I ordered a new one - a Hoover - 9kg and 1500 rpm spin.

I got an email yesterday evening to say that it would be delivered and fitted between 9 -11 this morning. They came in just after 9:30 and set it up and then took the old one away - 20 minutes me.

Sonic Direct is the company and 5***** from me.

Local company, Ria. Free delivery and fitting. Often the best way to go IMO.

We have a little electrical shop like that Frank. Moulton Electrics.

My nan used them, my mum used them, now I use them.

They are not the cheapest, but they deliver, they fit, they take away the old and they come out and mend if needed.

They have been brilliant with Luke too. They couldn't get him cooker with an induction hob, when he moved into his bungalow. They supplied his washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer and threw in a hoover as a housewarming gift. But they couldn't supply a cooker with an induction hob. I managed to find one, so they said have it delivered to us, we'll store it, and deliver it and fit it with everything else.

Far better service than the big companies

That’s excellent service Frank, they came up on a search earlier this week that I did for the fridge freezer I wanted. It was nearly £100 cheaper than anywhere else but they don’t deliver to us :(
I got it from Argos in the end, free delivery and £20 to take the old one away. The council will do that but they’re not taking bookings at the moment, and they charge £35 anyway.

Jo, we pay a service charge for the grounds. They have contacts with tinkers who come round and take away fridges, ovens, washing machines etc. left out for collection. Sonic did it as part of the deal.
