Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 30 Nov 2022, 06:07

Good morning.

Don's flying over today. :cute:

His flight's due in at 12.35pm so I'll get the Skylink bus to the airport to meet him.
This service is fab. It goes from the centre of Nottingham right to the doors at the airport arrivals. It takes 55 minutes and for me to get there and both of us coming back costs just £12.

We're going for lunch in town and then to Sports Direct as Don needs to buy a holdall for his return flight.
He'll be flying home with the last of his brother's Ed's 'things'.

I don't know if I mentioned but these were, amazingly, found in a box within a box in Ed's loft when he was moving from his house in Twickenham in the summer.
One of the items is the American flag that was draped over Ed's coffin so Don is keen to take everything back to Spain.
Jude weighed the box and it's approximately 8kgs so he'll pack it all safely in the holdall when we get to Birmingham on Saturday.

Out to Craig's local tonight for a few beers then back to play daft board games and get a takeaway delivered.

Happy St. Andrew's Day to my fellow Scots. :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning Ally , morning everyone

Lovely sunny morning but rather cold  And wet later too :Hi:

Off to Ourique for the normal shopping. Meeting a friend at 9.00. She is making sleeping aids, with lavender, so I'm having one, as I really struggle to sleep.

Back for breakfast and then we'll decide what we'll be doing.

Hope you're feeling better Ria xx

Safe travels to Don x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

It's definitely getting colder, Cruiser xxx

It's a lot brighter here this morning :) I have a parcel to post, but otherwise not sure what else we're doing today. I have Zumba tonight.

Morning all, it’s mostly cloudy here. Don’t know how cold it is as I haven’t been out yet. I’ll be popping up to the post office to take out money, then I’m going to the gym at 11.30. Quick dash home to change after that as I’m getting my booster at 12.30 and Edward gets his 10 minutes later. I will do the ironing this afternoon to get it out of the way for the rest of the week.

Morning all, at least it’s morning with 3 minutes to go as I start typing.

It’s another dull day, the air is so damp.I walked Bill first thing and then had to quickly get ready for a dentist appointment. It wasn’t until 10.15am but I needed to take two buses there and two back, and typically the first one didn’t turn up.
We used to have four buses an hour and that was cut to two last Summer. It totally cut off an estate at the far end of the village where a lot of people need to use the bus so it was agreed that one of the cancelled services would be reinstated, dow to just one per hour and only between 9am and 2pm, and would start and end on that particular estate.
Anyway, I went for the one which should’ve been by us just after 9 and it never turned up, wasn’t even showing on the app and I was at the stop 10 minutes before it was due.

Anyway, all good at the dentist and I didn’t even have to wait! I was actually there 10 minutes early, because it was cold and it’s in a village where it’s impossible to kill time  and I hadn’t even sat down when I was called in.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :D

Nice and bright right now.

Ally safe flight to Don.
Hope the lavender helps Jan.
You're right Cruiser, it's definitely getting colder by the day.
Good luck with the boosters Osc.
Hope you're feeling better Ria x

Sensible to get your parcel posted Kaz. I got all the Christmas cards posted yesterday, fingers crossed the ones to Oz arrive okay. At least they are in the system now and I can send e-cards if they don't so not the end of the world if they're late. The family can take theirs away when we see them this weekend and E will pop the neighbours in their letter boxes sometime next week.

Today it's operation pressie wrapping, need to have all eldest daughter and broods done ready for this Saturday. One good thing about having to be organised this early means there shouldn't be any last minute panics. We only buy for family these days, but there are rather a lot of grandchildren and great grandchildren ;)

Hope you all have a good day xx

My friend was in Pingo car park, we were in Aldi's   But we found each other and the whole package is very professionally done, and the lavender and hemp pillow is very well made :Hi:

Back for breakfast, after a pit stop at the bar and then out into the garden.

Two bucket loads for the donkey's and just as I was about to wheel a full wheelbarrow down to the ruin and the heavens opened  Just running across the gravel to the front terrace, got soaked, it came down so heavily.

Now having a pastel de nata, which is a Portuguese custard tart and it's lush :Hi:

Will prep the chicken for dinner and then write some Christmas cards.

Won't be straying far now, too wet 8-)

We’ve got quite a few dentists around here Saundra but most aren’t taking new NHS patients, the one I go to has just had a big refurb and has extended to do more private treatments so I think it’s just a matter of time before they go fully private.
We certainly haven’t got enough doctors though and more and more new homes are being built. There used to be a minor injuries dept in the town hospital which was good, it closed for a while but we were promised that it was reopening “soon” but a few years on and it’s still closed.
