Why?

in today's Telegraph it states that "UK Negotiators" (no names, notice), are backing a last minute agreement to discuss "Loss and damage" for countries badly affected by climate-related disasters.

This is barking mad. Why? What do we owe these people?

If we are going to talk about reparations how about we go after Pakistan for the grooming gangs and suicide bombers? Or Albania for taking so many of their criminals?

Or maybe just look at all the third world countries with exploding populations who are providing far more people than they can feed, educate, care for or house? How much is their overpopulationt damaging the planet? And Europe, who are expected to take all of their spares?

We are led by a political class that cares immensely for the rest of the world, but does not give a toss about it's own people.

Meanwhile 10 rivers that carry 93 percent of the rubbish we find in the oceans are the Yangtze, Yellow, Hai, Pearl, Amur, Mekong, Indus and Ganges Delta in Asia, and the Niger and Nile in Africa.

14 countries have 4.23 billion people in them, 55% of the worlds total, yet only China, the United States and Japan can be classed as rich, first world, industrialised or whatever. Many of the others have seen their populations more than quadruple in the past 60 - 70 years. All those people need shelter, air to breathe, water to drink and for other hygiene purposes, clothing, food and ways of cooking that food, power for heating / cooling and lighting, transport, medical services and so on. None of those things come out of thin air.

I think that I can see alternative problems to what the bleeding heart activists would have us believe.

I am fed up with this country being blamed for all the ills of the world and being asked to stump up compensation to other countries in order to fix their problems. Government has a duty of care first and foremost to the people of this country and should be concentrating on fixing the problems within the UK before throwing money we haven't got at others.

By mid January we will have hit 8bn people.

The poorest countries have inherited the consumer economies but have not created the waste management systems needed by these economies. This is what is causing the huge rubbish issue.

At some point the focus is going to have to change. Whilst poorer countries are developing less emissions per head, they are on an increasing emissions profile that is going to take over from the "rich" countries. At that point they will be the problem as much, or more, than we are.

There is a short window of "blaming the first" which is rapidly closing. They are trying to make the best of it.

Apparently there is a new deal about to be brokered with France regarding the illegal migrant channel crossings. Good luck with that one Rishi. It will be a nice little earner for France and the boats will still come in ever increasing numbers.

The French view deals with the UK differently than the UK views them.

Who supplies the boats, engines and fuel.
Make it illegal to sellfuelunless it is put directly into a road vehicle. I know this wont stop it being syphoned out but it is an obstacle in the way of getting fuel
for the engines on the boats.

The West and the US and the UK inparticular invented so many thing that have benefitted the world.

The industrial revolution; which led to greatly increased life span.
Steel.
The internal combustion engine.
Penecillin and many more life saving drugs.
The blood transfusion.
The micrometer which enabled the mass production of goods.
The motor car.
The railway train.
The tractor.
The combine harvester.
The aeroplane.
Space travel.
And many many more.

But all the world's ills are down to us?
I really don't think so.

Climate reparations are an insult to us and to our history. Perhaps when the third world starts to repay us for all our inventions that they now make use of, we should start listening to their bleatings about reparations - and not until!
