Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 18 Aug 2022, 05:09

Good morning.

A toasty 39° forecast so I shall spend a chunk of the day on my luxurious stay cool lilo. 8-)

Celebrity Masterchef had a new series start last week which I missed but caught up with on iPlayer yesterday.
Nancy Doolally  cooking her coleslaw  and Paul Chuckle.
I watched Tuesday's episode last night so I'm all up to date to continue with tonight's episode.
That and a new series of the excellent Ambulance. :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, and everyone :)

The lilo sounds like a plan, Al 8-) xx

I'll be going supermarket shopping a bit later. It's grey out, so hopefully we'll get more rain. Mick is cracking on with jobs in the garden, he's dismantled the old shed - the new one comes today - and he's gravelled the old patch of lawn where the washing line is, so it looks a lot neater :D I've persuaded him to have a break tomorrow, so we'll go out for the day :)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning you three.

It's manky and cool at 13 °C, but muggy at 89% humidity with a bit more light rain forecast this morning.

Need to get out for a card and present for S's birthday then take ir round in the afternoon before they go out. Apart from that there is not much else to report.

Have a good one whatever you are doing.

Morning everyone

Sunny but with a cool breeze. Warming up nicely for lilo weather here too later 8-)

Late start, as we didn't get back home until almost 11.00  Normally fast asleep by then  But a lovely night out and lovely food too.

Watering done and we'll have a late breakfast, with salad for dinner. Too hot to cook.

I had planned on spraying the weeds this morning, but it's too hot already, so that will have to wait. Will have to watch the athletics instead

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing x

Merry morning everyone

Ally, on the lilo in the pool day sounds just about perfect.
Kaz, when Mick is finished with your garden; does he want to come here. I've got loads that needs doing :D :D :D enjoy the day off / out tomorrow
Cruiser, housework never seems to go away does it :( Just when you think you're on top of things the laundry basket miraculously is full again and the dust is back; sigh
Frank, happy birthday to S
Jan, enjoy the athletics

We had quite a bit of rain yesterday - which made me realise I didn't get round to cleaning the gutters before hand so quite a bit was flooding over - so that's a job for today in the hope that we get more rain over the weekend. Have a friend coming round for dinner this evening; she's been up in Nott's for the past few days for work and is heading back to her home in Godalming so driving straight past mine. Looking to have a BBQ so I'm keeping an eye on the weather - meant to be sunny and warmish this afternoon so fingers crossed At the moment the sun is still trying to break through

Other than that it's the usual / usual for me

have a fab day everyone xx

Just had a chat to eldest son :Hi: video one, and was so pleased to see that he'd lost a lot of weight (4 stone  )

The bad bit is that he has to have another hernia operation and that might clash with the dates booked for him to come over.

But the grandchildren have said that they'll come over any way :Hi: Which means we won't have to move out 8-)

So it's fingers crossed for us all.

Now going to have a late breakfast.

Morning all, popping in quickly as we are off out to dance practice. Afterwards we might have a bit of lunch in the nearby shopping centre and a potter around. It was cloudy when we got up but the sun is making a determined effort to appear now.

Good morning all.
Sunshine and clouds here but not cold or humid

We went to a tea garden yesterday where the lady does all her own baking. It was wonderful.
Well done to your son Jan!
It's our last full day here, we might go to Whitby again or go to see the steam trains at Grosmont.
Have a great day everyone.

She's completely batty
Can't have Mick getting bored now he's retired Kaz, put me on the list for gardening when he's done yours and Ria's
Glad you had a lovely evening Jan.
Your day sounds busy Cruiser.
Enjoy the dance practice Osc.
The tea garden sounds lovely Crommers, enjoy your last full day.

I was awake at 8 this morning, couldn't get back to sleep so decided to have a shower and do the M&S run before brekkie. Worked well, we were in/out in no time and managed to get everything we needed. No other plans for today, supposed to be in for heavy rain, but yesterday's forecast didn't come to much, just a light shower in the afternoon. It absolutely lashed down in Canterbury so who knows.

Stay cool and have a good day xx
