Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 22 Jul 2022, 05:27

Good morning.

Boy oh boy was yesterday a cracker of a day! :D

We went into Coral Island (more for me as it was where we always took the boys so a nostalgic trip) and went on the monorail.

I took a video as we were going round and posted it on our family group WhatsApp. :D
Don and the three boys were delighted...as was I. :D

We'd booked the tower for 12 but got there an hour earlier and they let us in.
We did the cinema experience (excellent) then got the lift up as far as it goes which is to the glass walkway.

Wow! You step on the glass and looking out the views are towards the beach. Looking down is tummy tumbling.
You see right down the side of the tower which is weird (but great! ) and you realise how high up you are as people look like teeny ants.
It was incredible.

There are five glass floor panels to stand on...we did each one.

We then walked round the four different 'sides' of the tower taking in each different aspect of Blackpool.

Next we climbed twisty metal stairs to the next level and looked out.
Then the next set of stairs....then the last lot which took us to as high as we could go. Wonderful! :D

A well spent £15. :D

We got the lift down to the fifth floor where we shared a plate of chips in the Harry Ramsden restaurant and I had my first ever Costa Coffee.

After that we had a stroll on the beach, went on the big wheel then made our way back to the hotel to get the car and head home.

But not before an impromptu dance on the promenade when a blast of Strictly Come Dancing music came on.

A wonderful, laughter filled two days. :D

Today we're going into Solihull for a few bits, dropping Aimee at New Street to get her train to Manchester then coming home to paint our nails  as tonight we're meeting up with the girls (the ones who came over to Benalmadena in May) and we're booked for an Indian meal at 8pm.
Drinks first at Jackie's. :D

Have a great day everyone. X

Safe journey home for M Kaz. xx

Good morning Ally and everyone else - happy Friday

Gosh, you certainly packed it in the past two days Ally - glad it was such a good time, esp for Jackie. Enjoy the evening with the girls

I know Monday and Tuesday this week were really uncomfortably warm, but that didn't mean summer had to come to an end once that heatwave was over. Wendesday I think everyone just was happy it was cooler, but yesterday was such a dull grey cool day I actually had to switch on a light during the day; and looks like to day isn't going to be very different :(

Haircut today just after midday, but other than that not much planned besides the usual mix of work / pootle. Depending on mood / energy levels I may start tackling my wardrobes - been wanting to give them a good clear out for ages. So much stuff that I just don't wear anymore so may as well give to a charity shop so they can either sell on or sell to the ragman

have a lovely day all x

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

Sunny morning and lovely and warm, as long as you're in the sun and not in the wind. By heck, that's a chilly north wind  Grumpy had a jacket on   wimp

Blimey Ally, you certainly packed a lot in a short time. Glad you both had such a great time. Not envious of an Indian meal out  Enjoy x

Cleaning morning for me, then pool, then athletics, then pool

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally, Girls On Tour has sounded so much fun but Ria and Frank could tell you how dreadful I am with heights    So glad you’ve both had a blast!! :D Xxx

Ria it’s a fair bit greyer here too, I wish it would just rain and clear the humidity! Everywhere is parched brown, and I had to do a lot of dead-heading and clearing out of my pots yesterday

Mick just messaged, he’s having breakfast at the station before getting his first train of the journey home. He should be home about 3, fingers crossed XX I have missed him - possibly nearly as much as Fraggle, who has looked for him every time he hears a noise outside

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all, cloud and hazy sun here with a pleasant temperature. We had a lovely day in Wicklow yesterday, I mostly sat and read my book while Miss Osc worked, Edward and Michael played golf and Kellie came and went with her pals. She has started golf too (the golf club has a great junior programme) and she loves it! She doesn’t have Michael’s natural talent but is learning and enjoying it. We finished by having something to eat in the golf club before we headed home.

Edward has gone to play golf this morning, and I’ll do a general tidy around. I need to get some money from the post office, and I’ll go for a walk. Dancing this evening.

Morning all :D

A tad cooler, but bright and sunny 8-)

Another fabulous day Ally, you are certainly making the most of this trip.
I started on the bedroom drawers a couple of days ago Ria, there are things I'd forgotten we had, methinks quite a few items will find their way into the recycling :o
The pool sounds good to me Jan.
Hope Mick has a smooth journey home without too many delays Kaz.
Enjoy dancing this evening Osc.
Think I should start a course on how to avoid ironing Cruiser ;)

Washing for me, more than enough to do, always a busy day. Expecting a Sainsbury's order later this afternoon. In between all that activity I'll be in the garden with my Kindle.

Stay cool and have a good day xx

No plans for going out today, so spent an hour or so, lazing in and on the pool, then watched the athletics.

Jan rang.

Are you at the bar? Nope, I said, at home, playing cards and winning.

Come down the bar, my sister is here.

So we spent a very pleasurable couple of hours chatting to Jan and one of her sisters, whom we've met before, putting the world to rights and having a few wines :Hi:

No cooking as we had left over cooked chicken and potato salad, with a rather, by now, crispy bread

Trying to cut the rather crispy crust, with my new, very sharp knife, sliced my finger.

Blood everywhere

Fortunately, not on the bread
