Good morning.

I'm not even going there re the weather.

What a day yesterday!

We walked in total 24kms. Nothing too remarkable about that but in this heat....

El Retiro is stunning. Madrid's version of Central Park.

We trawled a few vintage shops. Don bought a shirt and I bought a 60s style dress. Both pleased with our purchases.

Went back to the hotel, showered again and out we went.

We discovered a Latino area, got talking to a Mexican couple and chose to eat in an Italian restaurant.

This morning we're getting the Metro.

One of the lines will take us to the Bernabeu Stadium.
It's closed just now having some work done to it so no tours but Don is delighted we can still get to right outside it. Bless him.

Loads of Metro hopping to different things we want to see and do including the Museum of Illusions.

We'll return to the hotel to shower and change then wander out again for a few drinks and food.

Madrid is fabulous. There's a great atmosphere, the people are super friendly, it's incredibly clean and we're really enjoying ourselves.

Morning all Another warm day here, set to hit 30° later Got some ironing to do, so going to do it shortly before it gets too warm. Will walk up to D's later, she's upset at the moment as her brother Bill, her last sibling, is very ill in hospital with heart and kidney failure. Some VV vibes would be much appreciated.

A rather disturbed night, I spent most of it in the spare bedroom. Those sheep bells And then a crash into the fence about 4.00 So got up and had a wander around, but couldn't see anything. Might have been the sheep, might have been a boar trying to get through. I'll have a proper look later.

Cleaning this morning, get it out of the way early.

Morning all, it’s already very warm but quite windy with it.

Bill had a very early walk before it got too warm and I stripped the beds when we got back, I didn’t want to leave the fight with the duvets until much later in the day. The bedding’s all washed now, I’ve just filled the washing line with the first load and it’ll dry in around 10 minutes I should think

The Tesco delivery is due in the next hour and Joe’s parcel has just been delivered. He’s off to Amanda’s after work and then they’re here for dinner and she’s staying tonight as they’re off to Cornwall in the morning. Joe’s coming back on Sunday but she’s staying until next weekend and making the most of still having the tenancy on the cottage until the end of the month.

Morning all, it’s overcast but warm here. I need to strip Michael and Kellie’s beds, didn’t have the energy yesterday evening when they left. Also there is ironing to be done, isn’t there always Edward has gone to play golf, and we’re going dancing this evening.

Hairdresser for me at 2pm, nuisance really as it's wash day, but Jo my stylist is only working Thurs/Fri/Sat now she's moved to the tiny salon in town. Today was the only free slot. Apparently the lease ran out at the other one and it's the only way she can keep all her staff on. This one is only big enough for 3 clients at any time. Hoping to get some washing done before and after, the machines on as I type.
