Hit them with any fine you want, it does not change the fact that these people were making the rules for us to follow, and millions of us did, and they, the elite, ignored those same rules for their own personal reasons.

Cummings' eye test is now deflection. Most of us thought that he should have been fined and punished and we said so at the time. Instead the elite allowed him to defend his actions at a press conference in the Downing St garden in order to protect one of their own - it's what they do.

That went well. Millions of us were disgusted and Cummings was universally reviled, and we said so - he still is for many of us.

He is now not "one of their own" and is on a pay-back mission, and they do not like it. It now appears that he has hard evidence to support his claims, we'll see. Hard cheese, for you poster boy peeps.

Glass of wine anyone?

Ah well - Boris won't be the first PM to mislead Parliament - i.e. Tony Blair and his weapons of mass destruction. So there is hope for Boris yet - if he plays his cards right he might get knighted! :D

Tony Blair was interviewed three times by the Metropolitan Police over the cash for honours scandal. According to the Telegraph Blair was not interviewed under caution because the Met were advised not to by Downing Street aides, as "that would have been a resigning matter".

What we are seeing nw is an attempted coup by a civil service who would like to see a Leave PM gone and a Remainer PM installed, as the civil service are 100% remain. They are backed up in this by our mainstream media, who are 99% remain. The BBC are especially keen to see Johnson gone because the likelyhood is that this would also mean that Nadine Dorries goes, and the clear and present threat to the BBC licence fee would be removed.

So they ramp up the hysteria about beanos that happened two years ago and present themselves as impartial upholders of the highest standards. As if.

Look! An albino squirrel!

I thought that we had 'Got Brexit Done'. If so why should we be looking for a Leave PM or a Remainer PM? Wouldn't a Competent PM with a bit of moral fibre fit the brief better?

Good luck with that search. Don't forget your water purification tablets. The Westminster pond water contains lots of nasties and invertebrates.

Good points Cromwell. So it seems it is not only them and us with the elites and non-elites, it is also them and us between the elites and the elites.

We have been reassured that we have 'got Brexit done' and I really hope we have, but nothing seems to stop the usual pains in the neck like Michael Heseltine from popping up and threatening to get Brexit reversed. I see Gina Miller is to start a new political Party - well good luck with that. She should hold onto her money before she disappears into obscurity.

I have now got Partygate fatigue and whilst appreciating that we all stayed at home and isolated and Boris didn't, I really don't want to see Sky News interviewing any more members of public on what they were doing on the night Boris partied/ate a slice of cake. The genuine concerns that members of the public have regarding rule breaking by people who should know better, now seems to have got lost in a witch-hunt by those wanting to topple the Prime Minister for dubious reasons of their own, mainly to do with their own self-promotion or self-seeking interests. The next thing they will be saying is that Boris filled his trolley with toilet paper when he knew there was a shortage.

Nothing in this is entirely as it is presented.

Therefore it is really not worth following. I'm not following it because I've already made my mind up. The punishment for this kind of thing is at the ballot box. Attempting to unseat a sitting PM like this is political avarice and nothing else.

As we have seen with cromwell's comments, this has all happened before. Those who are howling for blood now were clammed up totally when it was their turn.

I trust none of them. Especially those who want to sound like the light of reason today, when they circled the wagons themselves.

Is there something intrinsically wrong with that? Didn't we have forty odd years of people using lies, myths and legends to reverse the result of the 1975 referendum held for continued membership of the EEC? Or is it only right if it is a position you (second-person plural pronoun) support

I wonder what Theresa May thinks about being forced to resign due to political avarice from her own side. That was OK, was it?

Yes I think there is Frank. We were told it was a once in a lifetime vote and the electorate voted in good faith. So why do people like Michael Hesletine feel they have the right to plot and scheme to overturn that vote after such a short period of time. The EEC vote was in in 1975 and there have been a lot of changes since then, notwithstanding the number of countries involved increasing from 6 to 28 over that time, and the fact it was kept from the electorate that a political union was the underlying aim. So yes, why not give people the chance to confirm or refute a decision made over 30 years ago.

Regarding Theresa May - do you think people tried to unseat her for dubious motives, desire for revenge, spite, or personal gain? She had a reasonable majority when she took office, she called a general election and lost half that majority, and she then tried to foist a withdrawal from the EU bill on Parliament. She couldn't carry the vote so she had to resign. Harsh perhaps, but the right way to do things. I don't see that as political avarice. When a Government can't govern the PM has to go. The same fate may shortly await Boris Johnson, it comes with the job.

And regarding lies etc - what about the old saying 'how do you know a politician is lying - it's when his lips move. Many a true word is said in jest.

And I am not defending Boris - I voted for Nigel. I thought he was the right man to get us through Brexit then and I have not changed my mind, for all the good it will do me :D

Let me see.

Theresa may took over a 30 seat majority and turned it into a minority government by losing an election she never needed to call. She then attempted to deliver on Brexit with a fractured party, the opposition solidly against her and a confidence and supply partner who had not confidence in her government.

Parliament was in chaos, back bench MP's were running the government and it couldn't go on.

Apples, Space rockets. There is not one single point of comparison.

I know I reiterated some of what you said meds, but I wanted it a bit stronger.
