Last night I was cold and just couldn't warm up, so today I swapped out the summer for the winter duvet. I haven't needed the winter duvet for the past two winters; usually the summer one with a blanket has been enough, but I've had a few nights now that I've thought to myself that I should get the winter duvet out so today was the day.

So now watch - in a week I'll be complaining of being hot and bothered and the summer one will have to come out again

Mine is a two piece duvet. A summer weight with a spring / autumn weight, then when they are popped together you get the winter weight.

At the moment I have the spring / autumn version with a heavy counterpane on top. That is usually good enough for most winters.

Mine is the same Frank, but I've never ever buttoned them together; so the thicker of the two is the one I refer to as the winter one. I think I'd die of heatstroke if I did have to combine them - that would need to be an outer Siberia winter

We normally have just a sheet and a thin bedspread. But we were given Hudson Bay blanket and that is now on the bed Well, 4C means it's cold
