Grumpy's wedding ring has had a disaster

It broke In two bits

I know it's old, almost 40 years, but still

We'll get him a new one next week, won't be the same, but he's missing fiddling with it

Disaster, Jan, but wouldn't a repair be more personal?

The signet ring my dad had did the same and it was an invisible repair. Expensive but worth it for the memories.

It's really thin, WM and one of the places it broke it jagged, so probably not. We are going to try though.

But as the repair on my necklace broke after two weeks, not holding out much hope.

Edward’s wedding ring was in very poor nick after about 40 years, it cracked a couple of times and all the pattern wore off. We were told it was a flawed piece of gold, as mine which is the same is perfect. A local jeweller designed a completely different new one for him and he loves it. I was a bit superstitious at first, but we’re still here another 10 years on!

Jan, could you have it melted down and reformed (maybe with some added gold?)

Oh that's a shame Jan I had a Victorian dress ring, with a raised setting that I was very fond of. It wore away, and although I had it renewed and repaired a couple of times, eventually it was beyond repair.
