Hi....

....I've been AWOL but my feet feel as if they've not touched the ground for weeks!!

Can't remember when I last posted  but think I mentioned the house was going up for sale last Wednesday.

On Saturday there were 15 viewings and two on Monday.
The estate agent said there were more people wishing to see it but she knew from the positive feedback there would be offers on it immediately and said we could call a halt if we wanted so we did.

We put the closing date for noon today.

We've just been into the estate agent and been told there was a bidding war  and eight offers were on the table. :o

Sis and I had discussed all the people who'd viewed (Michele had made notes as I'd been unable to face being there) and she'd mentioned a particular girl she'd liked.

Her offer wasn't the highest but we both feel she's the right person for the house.
When she'd viewed it she'd mentioned the lovely warm feeling she'd felt and how 'loved' the house was.
So yes, we are very happy to have her live here.

Over the past few weeks our uncles and cousins have been a tower of strength for us and shown us even more how loved we are within our family.

Tonight uncles Stanley, Stefan and Vic are meeting us at Cambusnethan cemetery.
Their mum (our gran) is buried there.

Dad was one of four brothers born to gran and our grandad.
Grandad died when my dad was only seven and a few years later gran married a Polish man resulting in 3 more brothers for dad.... Stanley, Stefan and Vic who've always had a wonderful close relationship.

So half of mum and dad's ashes are being scattered on gran's grave and the other half on my dad's (our grandad) grave.

Michele dried and preserved 3 yellow roses from mum's funeral and she's going to lay those on gran's grave.

We kept 3 thistles from dad's wreath and I'm going to lay those on grandad's grave.

I knew I wanted to take back to Spain a small amount of both mum and dad's ashes so before they were mixed together I took a tiny amount from each urn and have them now in a little sealed dish.
I told the undertaker about my wishes and he has supplied me with a letter to save any complications at the airport.

Craig is driving up on Saturday and will stay over with sis and I.

On Sunday I'll leave this house for the last time. :(

I've got 6 boxes of 'stuff' from mum and dad's house that I can't bear to part with so Don has arranged for them to be picked up from Craig's house in Nottingham to be transported to our house in Spain.

I'm going to stay with Craig for a couple of weeks then fly home.
I'm looking forward to being with him as he's a joy to be with and he's promised we'll make good use of my walking boots seeing as I brought them over but haven't had the chance so far to even unpack them.

Think that's all for the moment.

Thanks for reading.

Dearest Ally ((((((((((x)))))))))))

Your plans for tonight sound very special. Lovely that you're taking a little of your mum and dad's ashes home with you. It will be hard leaving for the last time, but the beautiful thing about memories is that they can be carried anywhere, in your heart xxx xxx

I'm so glad you'll be spending some time with Craig before you fly home, those walking boots will get lots of use I'm sure.

I love that you and M are selling to someone who loves the house, and "felt" the love it has held.

Loads of love from me, as ever. K xxxxx

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for you and it will take some time for life to level out. The time with Craig, with plenty of walking, will be good for your head and then I’m sure you will be looking forward to getting back to Don and the twins.

That was a really kind thing to do with the house Ally. I'm sure the young lady will always remember it.
