Went to a village fayre

Postby victor » 30 Aug 2021, 18:26

today and my wife won a bottle of brandy in a box ,star prize on the stall she was told by one of the helpers ,it was a stall supporting Parkinsons.

Star prize indeed when we got home and took the bottle out of the box to find that it had already been started !

Fancy donating a bottle in that condition.

Needless to say it will be going down the sink just in case it has been tampered with.

Wife put a comment on that village fb page and someone commented that bottles they had won were EXACTLY the same

At the end of the day the Parkinson's Association still benefitted. You have only lost the price of a raffle ticket Victor, annoying though it is

Some-one obviously didn't fancy a whole bottle.

Bit of a cheek though

Sort of, Shell, but Vic did the right thing in flushing it away. Nobody knows what could be in an opened bottle and that potentially makes it a public health issue especially with there being other opened bottles.

I would report it tbh.

It's not about the money Shell it's about possible contamination

I would do exactly the same and flush it away, but why weren't these spotted? A bottle in a box is one thing, but bottles in boxes are unusual?

That's pretty shocking! I would definitely inform the organisers, in case it happens again :?
