Practical advice for door hinges?

If you have a patio door, right, and it sticks at the bottom when you try to close it, am I correct in saying you tighten the top most hinge screws with an Allan Key and also release the bottom most hinge screws - or do you (a) leave the bottom hinge well alone or (b) tighten the lot, including the middle hinge??

From my old DIY days it would be to loosen the bottom screws by about 2 turns then tighten the top then re-tighten the bottom, leave the middle hinge alone. That works for a tilted drop - then I noticed "patio".

However, I found this: https://www.everest.co.uk/doors/upvc/ho ... or-hinges/ now there are so many types and all work in different ways to cure a tilt or a drop.

ETA a tilted drop is when the door is not hanging square in the frame. Another is when the whole door has stayed square but slid down, but that means it is snagging all along the bottom. The whole thing needs lifting using a spirit level.

Unfortunately on our the inner frame had gone out of square probably due to it being left open and hanging there for hours or days on end. That's a whole new ball game.

I am having difficulty closing my kitchen door. It is mahogany. I have had a joiner to shave a bit off the edge were the hadle is.
But I can see it wants some more taking off. Last time he did not take the door off. It is easy to take the door off as there are pins in the three hinges
which can be knocked out.
Fitting doors is a skilled job more so with modern plastic frames.
Can you not get the firm who fitted them to come and have a look.

Thanks, guys. PvC job in our case. I've spent ages playing withe hinge settings and at least now we can get it closed and locked.

But it isn't quite right, and it's still under warranty, so yes, we'll have a word with the suppliers. Local firm luckily, not a national, so they have a reputation to think about!
