Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 07 Jul 2021, 04:11

Good morning.

Bright start to the day and a million birds chattering away in dad's garden.

I awoke at 4.45am again but as I usually wake around 6 in Spain I'm not going to quibble about 15 minutes.

A quick run round the woods at the back here then back for coffee.

I have the first of my home testing Covid thingy to do today.
I read through the instructions carefully yesterday and saw I had to register three lots of different numbers first.
Easy. Except it wasn't. The http address wouldn't let me in as it was saying my phone was indicating I was in a different country from where I booked the tests. Well of course I am!!! :x

Pffft! Luckily there was a number to call and I got put through to the very helpful Max and I'm now on the system.

I'm doing the test around noon. Can't say I'm looking forward to each of my tonsils being tapped 4 times then putting the swab way up my nose for 10 swirls.

I've had this done three times already over the last year but think it might be different doing it to myself. Wish me luck.

Good practice for when I have to do it again next Tuesday.

Plenty here to keep me amused including dad trying to teach me how to play chess. He tried this about 50 years ago so good luck dad.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Was a lovely morning earlier, even with the north wind, but the clouds are back and it feels quite cold

Best of luck with the testing Ally xx

I'm doing the Pingo run on my own, as Grumpy wants to get some strimming and window cleaning in before it gets too hot. If it does  We might have some people here tomorrow and want the place to look nice.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, whenever you get up.

Good luck with the chess, Al. It's easy to learn. Winning! That's another matter, I have never once cracked that - not one game.

The car man is coming round at 10:30. He sent a text at 15:39 yesterday to let me know. So I stayed in all day for nowt.

Nice start to the day. High clouds, no wind.... and no rain.

Have a god one and stay safe.

Morning morning everyone

Ally, I was given a few boxes of the lateral flow tests that need the same procedure and it's actually dead easy to do.... I do one every week or so; more for curiosity but also because it does make sense to do esp if I'm out and about quite a bit shopping / on the train etc. The concept of the PCR and LFT is the same so you'll be just fine :D

Jan, hope you manage to get everything sorted today and hope your visitors do make it.
Frank, good luck with the car today

I have a usual usual again - mix of work and shopping and pootling. The weather is just cr*p.... no other word for it. I'm so done with grey, wet, windy or any combination of those and am longing for sunshine and warmth. But hey ho

I was in the office yesterday - the trains are definitely getting busier. Still very empty compared to what it used to be like, but it's definitely picking up. Also more people back in London etc. I met up with a friend after work; we catch the same train home - that's how we met. Hadn't seen her since March last year so it was really lovely to catch up. And in the morning whilst buying by ticket I saw another set of train buddies I hadn't seen in ages...

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Ria, we have lateral flow tests from work, but we only have to do the nostril bit not the throat? Good luck with it Ally just don't eat before hand. When I did Tim's covid test I was sure I'd end up wearing his granola, that man has a seriously bad gag reflex

Morning all, it’s an ok’ish day, intermittent sun and no rain forecast, which would be nice as it rained constantly yesterday from about 1pm. Still, hopefully it has dampened down the local major gorse fire that has been burning on and off for two weeks. Today I plan to catch up on some h/work, also go to the library and post office.

Morning all :D

Nice and bright here.

Good luck with the testing Ally.

We're off to the cinema again today, this time to see Black Widow, very exciting. We'll pop into M&S to pick up an order afterwards. New pants for us both and a couple of dresses for me to try on here at home. No idea if either of them will be suitable, not my usual style, but now we're out and about a bit more thought I'd treat myself, fingers crossed I like one of them.

This evening E will be glued to the footie, I hope it doesn't end in penalties, he'll be tearing his hair out

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Forgot to say, we paid the balance of our August holiday yesterday, and I said to the lovely lady in the travel agency “fingers crossed it goes ahead” and she replied “oh we’ll get you there, don’t worry” :D

Morning all.

Ally I've had it done, but have also done my own twice, it's not brilliant but I know you will manage - sending good luck {{{{x}}{{

This is just a quickie, as we have a problem with Pepper. Going to make a separate post so as not to hijack this thread, but sending love to everyone xxx

Morning all.
We've been for a paper and this afternoon I need some new wipers for the car; the ones on there now are smearing the rain rather than wiping it.
We had Eliza yesterday. Apparently I am a mucky pup, according to her!
Not much on apart from that.
Ally - what a faff!
Same here WM. Moving the pieces yes, learning how to win is a lot more difficult.
Have a good day all.
