What's for dinner?

Postby debih » 09 Apr 2013, 12:43

We are having kippers!

I am so sick of seeing them in the freezer. A few months ago Mick went mad in Whitby and came home with the whole of Yorkshire's supply of kippers. I have enough in my freezer to keep us going til the next century. I don't even like the damned things that much!

So, in my hangover induced haze on Sunday I lay on the sofa watching reruns of River Cottage Everyday where they made something with smashed new potatoes, fried shredded kippers and parsley. So that's our dinner tonight. Something quick and simple so we can clear the kitchen out afterwards.

Deconstructed cottage pie - aka savoury mince and mash! I still have no main oven - the part Mick ordered never turned up so he blasted them with a flurry of outraged emails, which made him feel much better but means we still lack an element!! He's ordered another one :|

My kind of dinner Ally :)

I had chicken stew and rice for lunch so tonight will be something light, ie a packet of crisps or some pop corn and a glass of wine (or two)

Camperos are big flattish slightly toasted bread thingies filled with chicken, lettuce, onion and tomatoes. :)

They're lush.
