Two cases of the SA variant were found in early January yet it is only now that we are being told! Why? The cases were isolated and the outbreak was "apparently" contained so why start the testing over a month later?

The areas of most concern, parts of Chapeltown and Harehills, are some of the most deprived and ethnically mixed in the whole city - I hope that has nothing to do with the delay.

I grew up in the area, lived next to Harehills park, but it has gone downhill to the point of being unrecognisable.

Sounds much like the areas in Walsall where it was discovered.

Saundra, I agree with the others who say go with your instinct. You’ve all been very careful when you’ve got together on previous occasions.

Sending you a great big hug xxxx

I’ve been in my Mom and Dad’s twice in the last year. They’re not instructed to shield but they’ve just decided to, Dad went out for a few walks around the block but my Mom’s only been out for her flu jab and her Covid one.
I’ve seen a definite deterioration in them, for want of a better word, my Dad especially as he was always out and about. They suddenly do seem their ages.

I suddenly feel my age, and look it too, especially with grey stripes along my hairline. :(

However - it’s amazing what you can store in your brain! Kellie brought a soft cuddly dog with her today and asked if I knew how she could make her a lead so she could bring it for walks around the house. Super-Granny gets on to it, dredges up a memory of simple crochet, gets Kellie to choose some wool and voila! a collar and lead made in quite a short time. I think Miss Osc was quite impressed ;)
