What is it with the binmen?

They came a day late, this afternoon, and inspected every single bin and then only emptied about 50% of them. Any with lids ajar were left, as were those with items they deemed to be unacceptable.

Mine is rarely more than a quarter full so I have told the family next door (whose bin was left because it was over full) to use mine as overflow.

Jobsworths!

I don't understand that mentality Frank - surely it's better to get rubbish off the streets than leave it to accumulate? I must say; our guys are amazing and will take whatever is put out.

They did however issue a warning to my neighbour (the one that looks after my cats) as her bins are usually so darn heavy because of cat litter. She uses cheap stuff and doesn't use it properly so no darn wonder

But other than that, as said our guys are great

Ria, I don't understand the logic.

If a bin is just a tad overfull it means the owners needed a bit more room. Leaving it for another two weeks means what?

I think the binmen are having a bit of a row with the council atm so are doing a sort of work-to-rule.

A Doh! moment.

Eldest son has been in touch about their move. The sellers posted the keys back through the letter box, thinking that the estate agents still had a set.

Nope

Shaun said his misspent youth came back and he managed to hook them up with wire

But they also took the bits an bobs need to sort out the tv, wifi and other bits :?

Ria I am surprised they take it. If they see any evidence of guinea pig waste, they refuse to take mine, I have to make sure it is covered up. They leave a sticker on it saying we do not accept any animal waste. And guinea pig waste is far more pleasant than cat waste

We sometimes put well bagged up dog poo in ours, if one of the dogs uses the lawn instead of "going" out on their walks, and nothing has ever been said :?

Osc, that's great! :Hi:

Jan, that made me giggle, about the wire

Every now and then, the skin under my rings gets really itchy :cute: I've managed, after a struggle   to get them all off. Skin on right hand, not nice. Skin on right hand, not too bad. so the wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring are back on. The other eternity ring is staying off, for now. I'll soak all the rings in coke or vodka, whichever I can find tomorrow.

Grumpy said that copper can have that effect
