Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JanB » 06 Jan 2021, 09:03

Morning everyone

Looks like a winter in England outside   Doesn't quite so cold, but the heaters are on. And it's going to be a cold day, up to 9C and then down to -2C tonight   We normally have a few days of cold, but not this cold and certainly not minus figures.

Off to Ourique this morning, need to pay my ambulance bill, get some money on my phone and do the joy that is Pingo

Back to light the fires and keep warm. Will make a stew for tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan and Saundra, morning all

Jan, that is rather cold - esp when your houses don't have central heating like we do.... brrrrrr
Saundra, happy birthday to Scarlett's mom. And agree some days are just made for staying in bed and warm

I was going to have a home day today and take down all the Christmas decorations but Nadine messaged me this morning saying their car failed it's MOT yesterday so is being kept in another day for fixing. And she has a physio appointment that she really can't miss, so I'm heading over there a bit later and will take her there and then no doubt end up spending the afternoon there. Just as well the laptop is mobile :D

The weather here is just cr*p for no other way of putting it. I am now beyond sick and tired of the rain - the ground is sodden and it's just totally unpleasant now.

Have a lovely day all x

Good morning all, we’ve had light snow since around 8am.

John’s out on a site visit this morning and Joe’s home as it’s his college day so that’s now online. I’m just waiting for the Tesco delivery which is due in the next 30 minutes. Gotta go, it’s here....

Morning all :)

Jan, I saw your frosty picture on Facebook   :cute: Stay warm xxx

You too Saundra, I could happily stayed in bed this morning :cute: :) xxx

Ria it's so soggy round here too! The fields between the Docks and the Severn are flooded, and the tip is closed - which is a bit of a bugger as M wants to crack on with the ensuite  I think we'll have to get a skip  xxx

Glad your Tesco delivery arrived Jo 8-) We had a few flakes, but it came to nothing. Not sure I trust it though, the sky looks dodgy :cute: xxx

Early start as Mick took B to work - after our scare with the virus we've put our foot down about her using the buses. Gloucester has the second worse stats in the SW, so especially until D's vaccine kicks in we're taking no chances. I have a wash load on, but am about to pop up to see D - if that sky is telling the truth we might get a lot of snow later, so I'd best go before then.

Have a good day everyone, and stay warm and safe xxxxx

Morning all. Blue sky and sun here too Saundra but very cold; it froze here overnight.
We have had an absolute ton of rain lately though. Every time our daughter walks their dog he comes back filthy.
I wonder if supermarket workers will get the vaccine early? They ought too imo. They have worked throughout the pandemic and deserve a bit of a favour now.
Not much on here. In a mo we are going to drop the prescriptions off and get a paper. This afternoon I'm going to bake a wholemeal loaf.
Have a good day all.

Back again now it’s all been put away

Waiting for an Amazon delivery today, not confident it’ll come though. It was dispatched yesterday and while the tracker says it’s due to be delivered it’s not yet been scanned in as being received at the delivery depot. Not sure if it’s a glitch on their system or if they’re running behind.

Our household bin finally got emptied late yesterday afternoon. The recycling one wasn’t though and instead of playing catch up as the week goes on the council have put a message out saying that they won’t be emptied and will next be done when scheduled in two weeks. They’ve generously said they’ll collect bags of excess put at the side though but they must be clear bags. After Christmas the recycling bin is full and clear bags aren’t something that we’ve got, and I’m sure that’s the same for a lot of people, so seeing as the household bin doesn’t usually get very full then the recycling will just have to go into that and go to landfill.

Kaz, we’ve got a few patches of blue in the sky and it’s trying it’s best to brighten up. Fingers crossed it stays dry for your walk.

Morning all, fairly bright but cold, however no frost or snow. I was pleased about that as I had a 9am appointment for a pelvic MRI and was told to be there by 8.30. In an excess of caution, I planned to leave here by 7.30 and was up at 6.20 :? - of course, there was no traffic and I was there by 8am  I was actually seen just before 9am and was home by 10.15. After a night of very poor sleep, I’m very tired so I think a nap will be had at some stage. I might manage to put some washing in the machine but I think that’ll be the extent of my exertions for the day!
