Ah, you mean those trade deals with 52 countries that amount to about 8% of UK trade in exchange for the near 50% deal we already have? And isn't CPTPP, the one we are thinking of hoping to join to mitigate the loss of tariff free trade, at the other side of the world and the one that contains the countries just signed in to RCEP? And doesn't it have rules that we would have to follow if we do eventually join just like, oh I don't know, somewhere right on our doorstep?

Let me put it this way.

Let us say that May was still running the country, without the election from last year, unable to pass a budget to help out with Covid.

How would that put our standing in the world today? Especially in negotiations with other countries.

Now let's apply that in reverse.

I don't want to go down the 8% 42% route as it will just degrade from there.
