Oh no Kaz! What a rotten shame :(
I do hope that they can find some suitable alternative excursions, otherwise it really would be better to cancel :?
Give Becky a (((Hug))) from me, she must be so disappointed :(

BTW how is the young teacher who was supposed to be going but had a stroke?

Thanks Jo - I will, she really is terribly disappointed but putting on a brave face.......

The teacher has left the college - she is still very poorly but last we heard she is recovering very slowly. Thanks for asking :)

You are all being really kind on here and I do appreciate the support such a lot - elsewhere I have been lectured that I should be more worried about the animals out there, who will be hurt by the fighting, and have also had people saying I should just be grateful the college are being sensible! :?

Well of course I am, do people think I'm so daft that I'd rather B went into a war zone than missed her trip? It doesn't stop her being very disappointed and me worrying about the money side though does it? :(

Sorry to rant, but we are a bit upset here......

(((((Kaz and Becky)))))
It goes without saying that you're going to be relieved that the college aren't taking any chances but it's natural to be disappointed, especially when the trip is SO close :(

Glad to hear that she's recovering :)

I'm with you Kaz, yes it is awful for the animals but Becky is your daughter and she is disappointed and that affects you.

I hope they just cancel it, and you can get a refund. What are the chances?

Thanks both - you all understand perfectly, why do others not seem to be able to do the same? *sigh*

Shell I really don't know, the college is closed for Easter - I guess the earliest we'll get any answers is Tuesday :?

What a shame. Poor Becky.

I do hope they find interesting alternatives for them.

But I suppose when you are booking to go to any out of the ordinary holiday destination you are always taking a bit of a risk - but that doesn't make it any less disappointing for you all.

No it doesn't, and I get your point - but they've taken this trip every year for a long time with no problems, and B is gutted it's gone wrong on 'her' year.....I am too and I'm making no apologies for that......

Oh jeez Kaz, I certainly wasn't lecturing when I mentioned safety. It was a simple observation, and I agree, a complete cancellation would be far better than a sub-standard alternative just to make the trip happen.

I sincerely hope that if that happens you and others are given the option (in Law) to cancel and get your money back. I know it will break Becky's heart, but going on a 'fill-in' is not the same as going on the real thing.

I would be gutted too Kaz and I don't blame you or B for being so.
