No potatoes in Morrison's this afternoon.

"Have they stopped growing spuds? I asked.
"No it's just that people are buying up loads of bags." said the veg man.
"Why don't you limit them?" says me.
"We tried, but all they do is give the kids some money and send them out for a trolley each, either that or they go out and come straight back in. They do it with everything, all the time" all said in an exasperated fashion and with rolling eyes.

Hand gel, it keeps, bog rolls don't go off, but potatoes....

Rationing hasn't been mentioned but Asda have announced today that they're closing at Midnight every night rather than being 24hrs so that they can restock. They're reopening at, I think, 7am each morning. No doubt there'll be queues waiting to go in.

Our local one looked like it'd been looted when I went in at 8.30 this morning.

I had a Dr's appointment yesterday at 08:05 so called in to Asda first and it was the same.

Also interesting to note that all the home baking ingredient shelves had been cleared - I begin to sense a return to the 1950's .....

The same in Asda and Morrison's. And also yeast.... the streets might begin to smell of baking bread.

Time to sharpen the pitchfork tines and hone the scythe, yar.

I got Dettol antibacterial/antiviral surface wipes from Poundland, I usually use the spray version but I'm running low and obviously there's none to be found in the shops, and I got paracetamol from there too. I usually have a few boxes by us but we'd all had a virus and were down to the last box.

Mrs S was in Sleaford Tesco tonight. She says almost all food products had been cleaned out. Except for fresh veg. Apparently the stock hoarders in Sleaford can't cook...

I was in at 10am and apart from the obvious anti bac stuff and bin bags/toilet rolls, it looked pretty normal. Although I noticed people rushing around with lists muttering "have to get" over and over again. Cravendale semi skimmed milk was totally gone. Apparently the hoarders are better paid than most.

Most of the perishable stuff they took is going to be wasted for sure.

We are out of Quaker Oats so I went out. The looters have been out here too.

Same at Morrissons Gosport ---no bread,spuds,veg,chicken,fresh meat,fresh fish,wine half empty and soft drinks,kitchen rolls toilet rolls

however there were plenty of Daffodils and Easter Eggs !
