Harry and megan

Is it a suprise to any one that the royal couple have made a decision to step back from there royal duties
And spend time in North America
I see it as the end to our royal family
But I'm not surprised at there decision
Day after day they are hounded by the media
I'm feeling sad as Well as I'm a royalist as well

I never saw that one coming.
I do feel a bit sorry for Harry. He seems to be seeking a purpose in life.

I think it is a shame that they do not appear to have consulted the Queen regarding their future plans. Harry is well aware of Royal protocol. It just seems a little bit disrespectful to his grandmother the way it has been done as she has had quite a bit to contend with over the last few months.

While I have no problem with them stepping away and forging their own path, I think it is most disrespectful to Harry’s father and grandmother to announce it on Instagram without much in the way of prior consultation. Whether Harry likes it or not, he is a member of the Royal family and is well aware of protocol. Saundra, I don’t think it is the end of the Royal family, but perhaps the start of Prince Charles’ slimmed down monarchy.

I will say, some of the abuse being thrown at Harry and Megan by the press is over the top.
When they got married they were the greatest thing ever according to the papers, now they are awful according to the same people!
Talk about build them up in order to knock them down.

It's clear that I am a Republican, but only in that I want the Monarchy disestablished from religion and politics. I certainly do not want the individuals to go the way of the Romanovs. However, I do think that Osc's observation could be right.

The days when the media and the public were deferential in all thing to the Royal family have long since disappeared. I cannot pin down when it first started but it did lead to the Queen's 'Annus Horribilis' speech in 1992, and events of the past few years have only made matters worse. The Royals have been open to scrutiny as never before and a lot of it has not been particularly flattering.

A slimming down might be the least that is needed.

And don't forget that unlike the 'commoners' they wish to become they will never need to check their credit score on Experian (other credit checks are available) because they will never need a current account or a credit / debit card. In their world everything is free.

They might not want to do 'Royal' duties, but they sure as hell will be up for making £ millions by association.

Parasites.
