I lost my Bookmarks

When I logged on this morning I had lost my Bookmarks.
Tried to do a System Restore. Got the orange screen with the message it was working and the rotating ring.
Left it for an hour but still nothing.
Then went into History and after selecting a restore point have managed to get them all back.
I do not know what I did but normal service has been resumed.

What browser do you use Cruiser? I use IE and the bookmarks are simply files in the local user directory. I tend to back them up and distribute them to other systems by using File Explorer.
