I'm not sure I could live anywhere that quiet on a fulltime basis, but for long weekends and holidays..... 8-) :)

Probably not to live, no :) I have dreams of living by the sea, but at heart I'm a townie, I think. Especially as I can't drive ;)

A city by the sea would be perfect for me.

I know Michelle struggles at times and needs to escape, and she's Orkney born and bred. Things like hospital appointments are difficult as although they have a hospital there it doesn't offer everything; for instance, she had to stay a while in Aberdeen before the twins were born as she was high risk and needed to be near the neonatal unit, she also needed an MRI a few weeks ago and, again, that was in Aberdeen. Her husband has MS and apparently there's a higher than normal percentage of cases on the island than anywhere else in the world, because of that the hospital has a dedicated MS nurse.

When she does escape text messages typically start like this;
Michelle: Guess where I am?
Me: Wetherspoons?
Michelle: YES!!!! :lol:

Certainly do Jo. When I spoke to him yesterday, he said that they could have bought an apartment by the beach somewhere, but then thought - what will we do all day?

He's 61 and she's 63, so young enough to make a living out of whatever they decide. Neither of them will be getting pensions, but now they have some savings.

Jo - you mentioned a city by the sea and that's exactly what Malaga is. 8-) 8-)

I still dream of one day selling up and buying an apartment overlooking the Med and having the city right on my doorstep. :D

But we somehow can't bear the thought (yet) of selling our dream home (which it has been for us) and we love the fact the boys still come over and stay with us more than regularly. :lol:

Yes we'd buy an apartment with x amount of bedrooms but I've been so spoilt with the rooms and gardens this house has it would have to be a bloomin extraordinary one to give me that final push to move.

Then of course there's the fact it's a ten minute walk to work.... :lol:
