It poured down here for much of the afternoon, the lawns and borders had a really good soaking and are still damp now.
I also had a really good soaking walking the 20 yards from Tom's car to the door.

Tom's happy. He's been on a zero hours contract with McDonalds since starting in sixth form but they've now given him a full time contract seeing as he's taking a year off to work there.

Can't grumble about zero hours though, it worked well for him while he's been at school and university.

On Sunday my wife bumped into a young woman who we know vaguely. Claire, the lady in question, told MrsC that her partner Nick had gone out on Saturday night and got drunk, was still drunk and was now getting ready to go out again.

Nick is in his early 30's. Young men in their 30's married or partnered up, seem to behave as though they were still nineteen and single. Most men of his age in the village are the same.

If you want to be single no problem. But when you get married or move in with someone you have made a commitment to them, surely? Which means settling down a bit and cutting down on the boozing, I would have thought.

I must be getting old because I don't understand this at all.

You are right Saundra. I don't think he'll change. And she might well leave Kaz. I think she is looking for some sign of commitment from him but he just seems to go his own merry way.

It is selfishness, a lack of consideration and thought for his partner.

Just got buzzed by my Fitbit, telling me to get up and do my hours 250 steps  That must mean I've been sitting in the M&S cafe reading for almost an hour. Better move before it delivers a Death Ray! :P :cute:
