Burnt table top

After 20 years, I finally managed to burn the kitchen table top last night

I'd put down 2 folded over table mats, so that should have been enough, but obviously not

It's a pine table and now has a white bloom on it

I vaguely remember being told, many years ago, that toothpaste was good for removing the white mark.

Is it? Or do you know something I can do?

Knit a little old lady doily.

That'll fix it.

And you could keep toilet rolls in it to make it a multi tasking doily.

Debih please be sensible, you can't keep your toilet rolls on the kitchen table. The telephone table, the beside table maybe, but not the kitchen table

You could always shove a couple of plastic flowers in them and people might think they are vases!

I was once told many years ago that to get out circular white heat rings from a coffee cup inadvertenly placed on a wooden top, the best method was to lightly rub over it with cigarette ash (it's mildly abrasive). From memory it worked, too !

There were these at the bottom of the page Ton:
Mix 50/50 toothpaste and baking soda, rub in. Do not use gel toothpaste for this.
Rub in a paste of salt and olive oil, allow to sit for up to an hour. Wipe off.
Rub in Miracle Whip (Mayonnaise) and wipe off after an hour.
Mix 50/50 vinegar and olive oil and rub into the watermark.
Try straight toothpaste (non-gel). Rub in with the grain then wipe off.
Make a paste with baking soda and a few drops of water. Rub in then wipe off. You can also try salt instead of baking soda.
Rub some Vaseline (or other petroleum jelly) into the watermark and leave overnight. Wipe off in the morning.

I'd try on just a tiny corner of the stain first
Also it did say some people found just a hot iron without steam worked, but the steam did seem to be the key.
I'd try the vinegar and olive oil first, that sounds familiar.
