hello all

Ally, have just the best time this evening.

Well I got nearly all my food shopping done yesterday. I need to collect meat from the butcher tomorrow morning (already ordered) and then pop into Waitrose on my way home tonight to see what they have in the way of prawns / scallops / fish . Then it's all done

Working until about 3pm today then off unitl 3rd January. Nail appointment tonight but not sure yet what colour I'm going with, but looking forward to a lovely girly night.

Glad your neighbours are so nice Jen :)

That was handy, Di, no queues! :D

Yayyyy Ria, all done with work now until the NY :D :D

Town was fine in the end, not as busy as earlier in the week. Harry bought the bits he wanted (vouchers for Becks and Chris) and I treated them to disgustingly sweet-looking frappes in Coffee#1 afterwards and sausage butties. I had decaff tea and a teacake, I know how to live  :x  B and H got off the bus to go to PC World and will walk home from there, Mick has just finished work for the holidays ( :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: ) so bring it on! :D :D :D :D

Afternoon, it's a pretty miserable day here, but I think the worst will be over in the northwest rather than here on the east coast. It's fairly windy, nothing unusual and the rain has come in now, but it is not particularly cold. I walked to the shops before the rain started, so we are in for the day now. Mr Osc has been a busy bee, floors all washed, scones made and a gorgeous piece of ham cooked and glazed. I've ironed sheets and duvet cover, and changed the bed in the spare room in case my sister stays on Christmas night (she won't, of course  ) Going to do very little for the rest of the day as my cold is trying hard to make a comeback  and with it being so dreary outside, it seems to be a perfect afternoon for a soppy film :x

Fantastic Di!
I'm all done now, I'd bought some flaky pastry last night to make some mince pies (because filo ones and two packets of Mr Kiplings won't be enough) but neither Aldi or Tesco had mincemeat. I had one jar but that's earmarked for the filo ones and I'm not sure how much of it I'll need. I ran down to town while John waited for the parcel and we're not that well off for supermarkets in that town, just Asda, Aldi and Morrisons with a Tesco Express which I had to pass. Ideally I wanted to avoid the larger stores so popped into the small Tesco as I passed and found a solitary jar semi-hidden on the shelf.

Kaz, so glad that H is with you! :D When does Chris arrive?

Ria, enjoy your time off! :Hi:

Osc, we ended up watching Home Alone 2 this afternoon.

Jen, really pleased to see that you have good neighbours!

Well the rain stopped and the sun actually appeared! I had a snooze in my chair for almost an hour, then my sister arrived. She brought Donal Skehan gingerbread muffins, goodies for Christmas Day, and crackers. When she left, I cleaned one bathroom, then we went out for a walk around the block, it was blowy but dry and the air was lovely and fresh. When we got back I cleaned the other bathroom and that's it with the cleaning  We've had tea and are looking for something to watch on tv for the evening.
