New debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has been found off Tanzania. This adds to other pieces found on Reunion, Madagascar, Comoros and Mozambique. All of these places are in the western Indian ocean. They are all roughly south of a line of 231º, the plane's last known heading when just off Sumatra, Indonesia. The Maldives, where there was thought to be a sighting of what was possibly MH370, are also along this line.
At the time of its disappearance there was speculation that it could have been hijacked. I remember posting that this could be a new venture for the Pirates of Somalia as this would be on that heading.
Now, we know that the search has been carried out off Australia and that computer models suggest that currents could have taken debris from there, but there has no even been a hint of a crash site. I have never been convinced, and with the search due to be called off at the end of the year I am more certain than ever that the search has been carried out in the wrong place.
