A drift to the left, or somewhere?

Postby Workingman » 16 Aug 2016, 12:59

I have been reading comments in a few places about one or two subjects that have cropped up over the past few days - rail fares, gas refunds, NHS privatisation, and inflation/interest rates, and there is a definite move away from the centre.

There are many calls for the government, national or local, to take back some level of control over utilities, transport, NHS spending and so on. This is to be done, for example, by not renewing rails franchises or limiting the cost of agency staff for the NHS.

Whether these calls are right or wrong is not for me to say, but they do show many people are not happy with the status quo.

I can understand why Frank, my daughter a private maternity nurse world five days a week in and around London. I read rail fares are likely to increase for what is an unreliable service.
