Some time ago an old friend and neighbour discovered he suffers from ceiliac (sp) and as I had a car we used to share shopping trips, which were a nightmare, the stuff is hidden in all sorts of products.
Eventually he gave up and turned into a home cook making his own meals from scratch. Stole some of my recipes he did. Shopping became much easier once he had identified the fruits, veg, fish and cuts of meat he liked and how to make sauces to cook them in. And a DIY gluten free diet is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying the gluten free products trying to substitute for the 'old' stuff.
I do gluten free and veggie days most weeks, my problem is that my portions are way too big.
