Picking statements out of the raking over the coals

Postby Suff » 12 Jul 2016, 09:12

I've been reading a lot of analysis since the Brexit and Trump votes. There are some interesting statements in there but this one in the Irish times really struck a chord.

Nichols Colas, a market strategist at Convergex, said the result “gives real pause as to whether markets can forecast important political outcomes, particularly where one of the outcomes is not held to be politically correct”.

Interesting that they really believe the markets are fully politically correct and cannot see that the people don't agree with it. What it means, to me, is that political correctness has not only infested the entire political arena but has also begun to infest the financial markets and business markets.

Which is a really sobering thought for anyone who believed that PC was the preserve of left of centre Political idiots.... It would appear that Common Purpose is branching out of the government into business....

Although Common Purpose must be "in their cups" after both the Trump and Brexit votes. They were so sure they had control. Just look at how London voted.

If nothing else, for me, calling intolerance of political correctness Racism got a huge kick in the gonads over the last few months. WE know we're not racist and, it would seem, we are willing to vote to prove it.

I'm just wondering how many more popular votes could be called where those backing the issues I don't like can go around calling the majority of Britain racist....

Some change might be good for a while. Britain has been quite good at this. Some change instead of lots of war.

I have long held the view that Political Correctness has infected all walks of life.

For some strange reason it was able to push itself to the fore in unelected focus groups, Think Tanks, the Civil Service, government departments - national and local - and many more places. That business and the markets are infected comes as no surprise.

It has also come as no surprise that the public, who have never supported it, are taking opportunities to give it the finger. I still see the 'racist', 'xenophobe' and 'bigot' cards being played, but I also see ever so many treating them with disdain or telling the 'players' to go back to nursery and get the crayons out.

Probably the only way to deal with it.

Good to see that "Common Purpose" (a supposed charity) is being mentioned and acknowledged, I have been writing about them for years, attendees and students are politicians, police etc and others in top positions in organisations, this is no charity.. these teachers and courses are run by Neuro Linguistic graduates, government finances this organisation that I have followed for a number of years,
That has attempted to keep a low profile both here and abroad . You will find the names of the graduates most interesting.

Kate, I thought of you as soon as I read Common Purpose in Suff's post.

That subject has not been mentioned on here for some time but, like you,
I'm sure it is still festering away somewhere in the background.
