Yes, it lost a council and 25 councillors in England, but that's not too bad for a far-left or loony left party, as the BBC would have us believe it is.

And, yes, it was driven into third place in Scotland, by of all people, the Conservatives, losing 13 seats in the process, but whisper it quietly, coming first in Scotland the SNP also lost six seats and no majority.

In Wales it lost one seat, and an overall majority, but is still the largest party.

Overall the results are not bad for a party predicted to implode and be wiped off the political map. I have no liking for Labour and have never supported it, but I think the results are good for democracy and a warning to other parties not to take the electorate for granted.

I have little time for Corbyn or Labour, but I am really glad that the electorate showed the agenda drivers in the media and in politics that it is more independently minded than they arrogantly assumed.

Ah, yes, Scottish politics. Hard for the average Englander to understand.

When it comes to UK elections the current state of play is USvThem. Hence the massive SNP win. However when it comes to home politics, it is a decidedly different equation. Lots of people feel that they have a more valid protest vote elsewhere. Labour have alienated themselves, so have the Lib Dems. But it's viable to vote Tory in the MSP elections because it does not play into the hands of an English Tory government who would use it against the very voters who voted them in.

Overall? Milipede was universally detested and the elections were a total disaster. So the next elections and the results were? Well.... Worse.

Just because Corbyn did not preside over a Milibandesque crash in votes does not mean that they are out of trouble or that he is a good leader. To be honest, the way Miliband performed, even the Donkey should have produced a better result at these elections. Whereas, in fact, they dropped even further.

To Labour leaders that means the people hate Corbyn even more than they hated Miliband. Which means 8 more years in the wildernesss..... Unless something changes soon.

So, in fact, it was a complete catastrophe. You can't take relative disasters and say "because it was not so bad this time it was better". Because it wasn't. It was worse. The idea of replacing Miliband was to heal the party and grown their support base. In fact they have split the party further and lost more seats....

Nah, easy peasy, it's just that the English could not give any more of a stuff than we do about the politics of Guernsey.

Suff, your hatred of Labour shines like beacon, so much so that you are blinding yourself. It might have lost 13 seats in Scotland, but it didn't get wiped. It still polled 22.6% of the vote on a turnout of 55%. However, in the grand scheme of things, nationwide, and despite all the negativity thrown at Corbyn and Labour, its vote largely held up. It is way too early to write Labour off no matter how much you would like that to happen.

I am loving watching the media pundits on the BBC and Sky choking on their words. Sadiq Khan looks to have become the Mayor of London and it also looks as though labour will win the Assembly; yet the Westminster Bubblers are still peddling the line that the elections have been a disaster for Labour when patently they have not.

What did I say? Miliband's result was recognised as a total disaster, Corbyn's result was worse.

It does not matter what Corby's result v Milliband's is.

What matters is that all the smug pundits, political correspondents and the Blairites were predicting the loss of so many councillors and councils that Corbyn would be finished, and it did not happen. There is lots of egg on oh so many faces.

I was a Labour supporter all my working life, but Blair turned me off.
I can't support Conservatives when an idiot like Cameron is in charge.
Lib-dems have never impressed me at all.
That doesn't leave much, does it?
