Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 16 Mar 2016, 06:21

Good morning. :D

Forecast lovely again so a nice walk after my coffee. :D

Great excitement!! The Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) are doing an 'it's important to read' promotion on Saturday 23rd April and our Academy has been chosen as part of it! :D :D :D

Yours truly has been chosen to read a story in the library, to gawd knows how many kids...in front of our local TV station's cameras!! :o

I'm going for the story Snow White as this means my work colleagues can all get involved too by dressing up.

The upshot of the above tale is I'm off today shopping in our local bazaars for 7 mad hats and dwarfy type costumes.

Hi ho, hi ho......

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all :D

Bit early to say what the weather's like, but at least it's dry.

Up at silly o'clock as E's got an early appointment with the GP. He wants to chat about his meds and ask if physio would help. Will probably detour into town afterwards, pick up his prescription and buy some more fruit. If it doesn't take too long I'm hoping to go for coffee with the ladies too. This afternoon we've got a heating chap coming to service the boiler. I also want to find out if it would be too much hassle/expense to move it into the extension. Not really essential, but I'd prefer it out of the way if possible.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning everyone

Started off with lovely blue sky, now got a grey one

Into Ourique later this morning, to do a few bits and bobs and then do this weeks shopping. Wonder how much we'll save this week

Had a brainwave in the early hours - we need to understand more Portuguese, although we do get by. Sue, a friend, has lived here for 20 years and pretty fluent but out of work at the moment, so we'll have a word, see if she's interested and pay her for a couple of hours conversational Portuguese a week. :D :D

Once we're back home, I have no idea what we'll be doing - depends on the weather

Enjoy your shopping Ally, that's the sort of shopping I'd enjoy

Hope everything is okay at the doc's Jen, for E xx

Hope Kaz is feeling better and the rest of us have agood day xx

Morning all :)

Thanks Ton, I do feel better although the back of my throat is still sore  That's a good idea. about the conversational Portuguese with your friend! :D 8-) xxx

Ally, that's exciting!!! :D Good luck finding the costumes, I'm sure they will all look fab! :D 8-)

Jen, good luck to E with his appointment, and I hope you can move your boiler :)

Saundra, have a lovely cuppa by the harbour (wish I could join you!) and I hope Lilly and K have a great holiday - bit daft of the friend who dropped out!

Well I'm going shopping today! Not bought any new clothes for a while and I am very bored with my old summer stuff, half of which doesn't fit anyway, SO as my birthday pressie from Mick (who didn't have a clue what to buy me) I'm going out with B to replace a few things! :D I'll look in Debenhams in town today, but if I don't find what I want there I might venture into the Quays ;) :D I also have to remember to go to the bank to pay in a cheque ;) My actual birthday is Saturday and I'd rather not clothes shop then as the shops are always heaving, mid week is much better, far more relaxed 8-) :)

Have a good day everyone xxxxxxxxx

Morning all

Ally that sounds like huge fun - have to ask; who is dressing up as the evil queen and the fairy god mother? And do you have your 7 dwarves sorted
Saundra, hope Lilly and K have a good time in Eurodisney; and good on them for going It's a pity that the friend pulled out because they really are letting the 'bad' people win. but hey ho - it's their decision.
Jen, good luck with the GP appointment and hope you manage the coffee morning. And good idea re moving the boiler if you can. They can be a bit of a nuisance and eye sore in the wrong place.
Ton; do most people where you are now speak english? If yes, could you also ask them to speak nothing but Portuguese to you and only if you're really struggling to translate to English? And then same when you answer - only Portuguese allowed in this village!
Kaz, enjoy the shopping. What a fab idea as a birthday gift. Win win really - a lovely day out with B, buy lovely things and then a perfect birthday on Saturday

Usual work day here, well sort of. Our receptionist is off again today (2nd day) so we'll be manning the phones and dealing with any meetings. Then off home to feed the cats and hogs and then off to meet Nadine :)

Have a lovely day all x

So far so good, both were very active again last night and seem to be doing OK weight wise which is good. Now the trick will be slowly weaning them off the cat wet food so they start eating more of the hedgehog dry food... once the weather warms up for good it'll have to be a case of tough love
