She's going for it! She's been in this morning for a sort of induction and to find out a bit more, and her first words were how good morale is there, so much better than at the hotel! Pay per hour is higher and there could be opportunity to gain more hours out of term in the future. Really, though, she'll be a sort of dinner lady to the students there, so not at all salubrious, but it's her choice, I'm glad for her

Been on the go today. Went out shopping this morning - wanted a pair of boots to replace my almost 20-year old Carl Scarpa ones which were the most amazingly good quality but are finally on the way out. I got another Carl Scarpa pair, extremely well reduced in the sale. I also got two new duvets for our spare room, and a few bits and pieces for myself. Caught up on some ironing this afternoon. It was a lovely day, but I did a fair amount of walking while out shopping, so I didn't want to overuse my ankle by going for a walk.
