Afternoon all :)
It was cold here earlier, but the dreaded rain is now falling yet again

Weka throw out all the stuff you don't like yourself ;) :)
Our internet still keeps coming and going today, will leave it for now and see how it is tomorrow before bothering to phone.

Just loaded up the slow cooker to make soup; onion, celery, leeks, carrots, one potato for thickening, red lentils, and the gammon bone.
I may add chopped cabbage later.
Feeling in need of veg so that will be for dinner, with crusty w/meal baguette :)

Sounds lovely Di, we had butternut squash soup the other night, with some cheese and biscuits - it really hit the spot! :D

Thanks Di! I've got my bone in the fridge and was just wondering what to do with it.

It was lovely :)
After about 4 hours I tasted it and added vegetable stock (had added mixed herbs at the beginning), then later squished the potato pieces so it thickened a bit.
You could blitz it, partly or completely if you wanted it thicker.
It was only a hock bone so quite small, but I hoiked it out and found some meat to put back into the soup.
Didn't add cabbage as I really don't like it the next day and there's plenty left. You could cook cabbage separately and stir in.
Definitely good use of the bone, and not much work :)
