The perfect photo - a very happy story.

Image

It is not a Christmas card it is an actual photograph.

The couple are British and were on holiday in Reykjavik when he decided to go down on one knee and propose - she said "Yes" btw.

The photographer is an American woman who lives in Reykjavik and often takes her camera with her. She just happened to be passing the end of the street and instinctively took the photo. She showed the photo to the couple and gave them her email so that they could download a copy, but with the cold and through gloved hands he misspelled it.

Frustrated and annoyed with himself he took to Facebook the see if anybody knew her and could get in touch on his behalf. For her part she was a bit puzzled that they had not got in touch so took to Instagram to see if anybody knew them. So, there was one search going one way and one search going the other when they collided on Twitter. Somebody had a dog who knew another dog whose owner's neighbour...... you get the idea.

Problem solved and the faerie tale is completed.

The picture is fantastic and if I was in it I would want it forever, to frame it, to stick it on a wall, or better still, to have it as the opening page of my wedding album.

Brilliant story, and a classic photograph. It could almost have been a painting ...

The world is your village with social media and the internet.

It is wonderful the way that people will get together and help out a total stranger with such a really lovely moment. Almost restores your faith in human nature.....

Although I must admit that village life can sometimes be some of the most vicious in terms of gossip and infighting.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
