We are just home from the most wonderful evening's entertainment - for our joint birthdays, Miss Osc and SIL gave us tickets to see Andre Rieu, someone we both love and have seen so many of his concerts on tv. When the London trip came up, Miss Osc arranged for my sister to babysit for us.
Today was one of those days It started at 6.45 as we needed to be out of the house by 8.30 to get Michael to school, it was the open violin class for parents so we were going to that at 9.00. That didn't take too long but I started the day very tired from not enough sleep (both children had to be woken at 7am, wish that had been my problem ) Niggly things happened during the day, for example Kellie fell and banged her chin, in the middle of something going wrong with one of the Christmas decorations - you get the picture - to be honest I could just as easily have stayed at home. However we finally got out of the house (later than planned) and when we got to the venue, it took 45 minutes to get into the car park and to our (excellent) seats But from then on it was just a fantastic evening of music and fun, and some really wonderful dresses! It was emotional and uplifting, with fantastic production and Andre Rieu had the audience in the palm of his hand from the start. I know there are many who would be very sniffy about his brand of music but the packed out venue (on tomorrow as well) means that an awful lot of people love what he does. We sang and clapped along, swayed to the waltzes and it's just as well we were too far away from the flat section in front of the stage, as ankle or no ankle, we would have been dancing!
I feel renewed, just loved every last minute of it. I'm wrecked tired, but nicely so IYSWIM!!
