Done and dusted

Postby tonicha » 27 Nov 2015, 12:35

The promissary was duly signed yesterday morning and 11,000€ handed over as a deposit. So now, basically, the house is ours.

The notary had very kindly translated the contract into English, as we all had to read it and understand it.

Our buyers signed the promissary contract on this house yesterday, apparently and we will sign our promissary and collect our deposit on Monday.

It was agreed and put into the promissary we signed in Ourique that we will not pay double the deposit back, should our house sale fall through, as is normal.

At the sports club later that night, talking to Sonia and a group of her friends, we've now got Sergio to look after our car, his cousin Elda is going to put the pool in (if he can't, Sonia knows another builder) and we have the name of a company to do our new kitchen :D :D :D :D :D :D

And talking to one elderly gentleman, he knows one of our new neighbours and said we have a very nice house, with some lovely soil

It was agreed that we should sign the final deed on 23rd December at 10.30. However, this is subject to change, as we're hoping our buyers can be pushed to sign for our house before 21December.

So great that you are at this stage now and you know what, even if you do move two days before Christmas, you will manage. Exciting times for you :Hi: :Hi:

And Grumpy has just reminded me, only because he keeps saying it.

Not really Ria. Ours is just under 500 a year here.

The reason the one up there is so cheap is because of where it is - the bins are a fair way away, there is no street lighting to our house, it's on the track at the bottom. And, because we have our our water, fossa and the house is classed as rural, it's always cheaper. Oh, and as lecky was only installed a year or so ago, all the wiring is brand new :D :D

When we put the pool in, it'll go up, of course.
