It wouldn't help Aggers. The site would be outside the UK and it would have been gone the next day. Before the police could even have made enquiries, the site would no longer have been there.
I guess my answer to the first person would have been "You know it's really funny but the last three times BT overcharged me I nearly had to go to court to get my money back. Who did you say your head of department was? Give me their name and department and I'll call BT back directly on the publicly listed number and ask for them".....
Your call would have disconnected directly anyway.
See my post on news about that. The only defence is to disbelieve everyone and annoy the genuine people. I had a call from Vodafone and they said "I'm just going to authenticate you". To which I replied "but I have not authenticated you". The conversation went backwards and forwards with the "but I'm from Vodafone" and "You could be king kong for all I know", until, In the end, the call was terminated with a very frustrated (I'm sure), Vodafone person on the other end.
The last time I had a successful call from Vodafone like that, I made the person tell me one piece of information which would only be in my account and not publicly available, then I authenticated. Vodafone have pretty much stopped doing that now as they realise it's an attack vector for the scammers and they were making the situation worse.

Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
