Conversations ....

Postby TheOstrich » 22 Oct 2015, 18:26

AA man outside Asda : "Can I interest you in Membership, sir?"
The Ostrich : "Absolutely not!"
"Oh and why is that, Sir?"
"You're far too expensive!"
"But we're offering new memberships at half-price, Sir!"
"Well, you're talking to a member of 41 years standing who you're currently rooking to the tune of £290. Ever thought of a Loyalty Bonus to longstanding members? No? Make sure my comments get back to your Head Office ....."

That is a conversation I would have had this morning, and indeed I walked passed the man VERY closely and VERY slowly with my trolley, giving him every opportunity to accost me - but he was too busy on his mobile phone ....

Have you had any "nearly" conversations recently? :D

Ha ha me too Saundra

I was denied the chance to have such a conversation when insuring our house. We had to reinsure as we had not smoothly transferred from one house to another, but it mattered not a whit that we had been with them (Axa) for almost 30 years, they wanted more for a two bedroom house with no outside space whatsoever than we had been paying for a three bed house with a 27 foot garden   I politely said I would think about, and within 24 hours was insured for considerably less. But they never called back to see if I wanted to accept their quote  so I never said my piece!

I have nearly conversations with my wife. She doesn't let me get a word in or I forget what I was going to say.
