Driving me mad.

Postby Workingman » 22 Sep 2015, 14:43

I was woken this morning by a furious itching in my right arm. It soon spread to other places so I went to see the pharmacist and she suggested Piriton. It obviously did not work as I drew blood scratching my arms, hands, legs and scalp.

Have just sen the doctor and been prescribed prednisolone, 6 tabs in one go for five days, and keep the Piriton going. I also have an anti-histamine cream.

I really am praying I get some relief as it is driving me mad.

No Saundra, they were the first things I looked at.

I have been using the same laundry stuff and personal hygiene things for years, and I make most of my own meals. I also checked myself out for any bites or stings.

The meds seem to be kicking in, so I am now getting some relief.

what did you have for dinner last night? Was it a lumpy bumpy skin or itchy from inside (if that makes sense?)

I had one of my own Chinese curry with noodles, Ria, one I have had plenty of times before.

It is not a rash or lumpy bumpy, it is sort of just below the surface and I want to get my nails right in and give it a good go. Grrrr...

It was washed, Saundra, and it has been on the bed since then.

It is hard to fathom because I did nothing at all out of the norm.

Hmmm sounded like an allergy to me too, but if you've not altered any products, or foodstuffs then I can't think what it might be? :(

I hope the meds give you some relief, I would also recommend getting some hydrocortisone cream, you can buy it over the counter.

Try not to scratch, it makes the itching worse as it sets up the itch-scratch-itch cycle :( I know it is hard - as an allergy and eczema sufferer I know just how maddening it can be xxxxxx

Kaz, I cannot think what it is either. I have the cream as well as the tabs and am drinking loads of water to try to flush whatever out.

I am going to have to go for another no-soap lukewarm shower soon.
