Nasty people.

Postby Workingman » 11 Aug 2015, 14:53

I left some drugs in the trolley when I got them yesterday from the Pharmacy within a store at Asda - it has its own separate tills, shutters and so on.

Today I went back to Asda to see if they had been handed in, but the store was not operating due to all the tills and card readers crashing, but it was open with staff turning customers away. I was let in to see if my drugs were handed in.

What I heard once inside shocked me.

The Asda staff, trying to help and explain to people, were subject to some of the most foul-mouthed expletive laden barrages of ill temper I have ever heard - mostly from women. If I were the manager I would have put a notice up, shut the doors and closed the shutters in order to protect my staff.

Totally unnecessary behaviour from some people.

I too am sorry to read that but sadly not surprised at all. Too many people seem to forget basic manners and etiquette when things don't go as they planned,

You should hear some of the passengers at the train stations when the trains are down - how the staff don't punch someone at times is beyond me; they are more patient than I'd ever be.

Shocking, but dealing with the public can be a real eye opener!!! I had some dreadful customers sometimes in Osprey (not as many as I got in Woolies mind you) and B now finds the same. Most people are fine, but some can be really foul  :x

There are many people, both old and young who do not have any manners. This can be seen when walking and driving.
But today, A young lady held the door open for me as I was entering a shop. So some people have good manners.
What really annoys me are people on motorised scooters who drive them at great speed nearly knocking pedestrians down.
Got a lovely smile and wave from an old lady with a stick who was crossing the road. I had stopped so she did not have to rush as she slowly walked across.
So there are some polite gentlemen still about.

I find that those who exhibit good manners now are mostly the older generations.

I wonder sometimes whether the cultivation of bad manners nowadays might possibly be due
to the widespread use of technical means of communication, such as smartphones and Internet
chat sites (Not VV, of course) so that people are not getting enough face-to-face conversations.
Children also do not seem to have sufficient conversations with other humans, even at home.
